“Fijne herberg met gastvrij en vriendelijk personeel. Wij logeerden in de familie kamer, een gezellige ruimte op de tweede verdieping. Er staat ook een bedbank voor een derde persoon, maar die is aan vervanging toe. Ze serveren ook een diner met redelijke keus, en voor het ontbijt heb je ook prima keus.”
“Very pleasing location with great view to Bristol Channel. Super friendly and helpful young couple is running it. If we would be in Lynton again, definetely we would consider to be there again!”
“We were welcomed by Charles and looked after very well both by Charles and Alison. Alison’s breakfasts were amazing. Gorgeous location and lovely homely touches ”
“Tucked away in beautiful location, 50m from Tarr steps. Lovely, helpful staff and gorgeous food (breakfast &evening meal). Lovely spacious room and amenities. One small suggestion for improvement would be nicer pillows”
“The location was good, nestled in the moor in a small village, complete with shop, river and old bridge: very Devon!
We wish that we could say that the pub food in our Inn was good; it wasn't. Overpriced, bland and in the case of the vegetables, undercooked even beyond a fashionable crunch. 'Raw' comes to mind.
The pub public areas were shut at 9pm and the staff went home. We actually felt rather abandoned! In all, not a good experience”
“Everything was great. Maybe a usb charging point might have been good in the room. The only annoying thing was the shower gel dispenser in the bath. It didnt work. Luckily i had my own to hand.”
“This was a wonderful stay, the staff could not do enough and when I expressed a question about whether I could stay another night, the young man looking after me went out of his way to rearrange, speak to his manager and make it so that I could stay in the same room. I slept really well, to the point of asking where they got their mattress and pillow from!”
“We felt very welcome from arrival till departure. Good location, cheap parking nearby, decent breakfast to start your day. Keep in mind that the rooms are not air contained and not all windows can be opened. Ask for a fan of necessary.”
“We really enjoyed our stay. We were walking the SWCP and were glad to stop earlier on this leg. (Just dont take the road to the lighthouse and then climb the scree over the hill: steep and dangerous). The room was excellent. Comfortable. Delicious dinner down stairs, and lucky for us on our night, a live singer providing a musical background atmosphere. She was lovely, and just the thing to elevate the evening to next level.”
“You have to remember it’s a 14th century Inn and comfort is going to be a little tricky. If your 5 foot tall it would help but being over 6 feet was a mission to get to the bedroom.
Staffings is a little laid back but the location is excellent by the quayside . Unfortunately, didn’t have a view at all so would recommend you book one. Breakfast is to order and very good”
“Room of reasonable size, quiet and pleasant view. Pub light meal good and Sea Shanty singers a bonus.Good position to enjoy Lynmouth and convenient for the excellent Cliff Railway to see Lynton. enjoyed the Norther Walk and the Valley of Rocks.
Very friendly people - made to feel welcome, thank you.”
“What a hidden gem The Annex, Rose Cottage is. Perfectly situated if you want a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of life! Nancy & Paddy are very welcoming hosts on hand to offer local knowledge on the best pubs to visit, walks to take or supply any small thing you may have forgotten.
The cottage is beautifully presented , warm and clean with a very comfortable sofa and bed. The kitchen is one of the best equipped I have experienced with everything that is required - a real home from...
