"One night at Old Quarter 16th - 17th Oct. Room 40. Great location, quirky pub/bar. Arriving at the hotel earlier than check in welcomed my helpful & friendly staff member. Informed us of room not being ready just yet but could do the admin formalities to save time later on. Offered luggage store whilst our room being prepared which allowed us to carry on with our planned tour. (Steep spiral stairs down to the basement tricky navigating with luggage) 4th floor room - finding out there a lift a pleasant surprise, especially travelling with a little one. Room was clean, comfy beds, had all essentials handy. Room offered great view from the dormer of central station, start of damrak street and canals. Only negative is the window could do with upgrading or draught seals replacing to keep warmth in at night and dampen some of the noise. Breakfast had a good selection to choose from. Would Recommend a visit for drinks and even a hotel stay."

"The property couldn’t have been more centrally located. Absolutely 10/10 for location. The first room we had was fine until 4am one day and this awful noise began coming from beneath the sink. Some sort of electrical fuse that was emitting noise. We were moved to another room that was next to the kitchen so that was fine until about 6am when they began prepping for breakfast. Aside from that- it was clean and was adequate for what Americans would expect. Staff was helpful despite the 4am move and from kitchen both responses: we are sorry about that"

Very short walking distance from the Centraal Station, so no long hike with your luggage & it's very easy to get anywhere else in the city. & if you're interested in the Red Light District, it's close to that as well, but separated enough that you don't have to deal with the crazy nightlife or seediness. We were shocked to realize it was such a close walk away, you'd never know it. Only complaint is that they attempted to charge us a high amount for breakfast at checkout, even though we'd already paid for it ahead of time with the room, & they also missed the fact that we'd purchased a late check-out."
