"Most rooms do haves a nice view of the ocean as the hotel is on cliff above the beach. There is a staircase to the beach below. The room was average and the area was average. I think I heard that the hotel was recently sold and there was is a lot of work going on around the hotel including new roofing being installed. There was no mention when booking that the hotel was being worked on. This was an average placed to stay and if in the area again, I would stay in another hotel nearby."

"We stayed here for one night on a quick weekend trip to Gualala from Sacramento with our 2 dogs. The woman at check in was lovely (she runs the motel by herself) and even provided our pups with organic dog treats. The motel room was extremely clean and we even had views of the ocean from our bedroom. The fireplace heater made the room feel even cozier. The motel was walking distance to pretty much every restaurant in downtown Gualala and a short drive to most of the hikes in the area. Only downside is that the mattresses were not that comfy but the rest of the stay made up for that. Would definitely recommend this spot for anyone staying in the Gualala area."

"We booked an ocean-view room through Expedia, but the only view from our room was trees and the garden. We chose not to complain to the front desk and stayed in the room we were assigned. We also arrived early and asked if early check-in was possible. The front desk took our phone number and told us they would contact us when the room was ready, but we never received a text or update. We ended up waiting for our room, even though check-in was listed as 4:00 PM. In addition, we were charged unexpected fees that were not clearly explained to us, which was disappointing. Other than that, the property was beautiful, and the overall scenery was amazing. The grounds were well maintained, and we still enjoyed our stay despite the issues with the room view, check-in process, and unexpected charges"

"It was three days of asking for a ground floor room for my disabled wife. Each day I was told I'd have to call the morning of our reservation day, with the man on the phone say bitterly "Everyone wants a ground floor room." When we got there 20 minutes to 3PM what sounded like the man on the phone, now at the desk said "No problem, I'll just charge you a little bit for early check-in." I said I'll wait. 20 minutes? On check in there was a different very nice man who gave us the last ground floor room and promised our next visit we will be given a ground floor unit. So that was nice."
