Accommodation was clean and spacious, the staff were very accommodating. The property is well maintained and a very nice boutique style hotel. The access road was a little rough going in with large pools of water to drive through but if you drive slowly, you should be fine.

Exceptional host

Teresa our host was super friendly, she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Was very attentive and made daily check ins with us, provided helpful information about Bacalar as well!

Absolutely loved Agave Blue. The view over the lagoon is incredible. We felt right at home here, and loved preparing breakfast while enjoying the breeze coming through the 360 degree windows. It's not a hotel of course, so expect some more rustic vibes, which is what we were looking for. Plus, the owner is so incredibly friendly and helpful for local tips! Thanks for everything!

The experience started out well. The water and views were beautiful, and the lagoon access was excellent. However, problems became apparent almost immediately. A frog fell from the ceiling while one of our family members was using the restroom, and we noticed numerous cobwebs throughout the house. We understand the property is located near a wooded area, but we have stayed in many similar homes and Airbnbs and have never encountered these conditions. Later that night, our children reported finding fleas. At first we thought they might be mistaken, but after inspecting the beds ourselves, we found additional fleas. There were also active wasp nests at the entrance of the property. When we raised the concern, management acknowledged they were aware of the wasps and advised us not to agitate them. Due to the flea infestation and overall safety and sanitation concerns, we left the property at approximately 9:30 PM that same evening and had to find alternative accommodations. Thankfully, another hotel was willing to accommodate us after hours.

Agave Blue was an exceptional experience- everything I was looking for in Bacalar! Beautiful view of the lagoon, beautiful property, wonderful service, peaceful, quiet... with all the amenities anyone could need. It's also a short trip into town for groceries, dinner out, or anything else you may want or need. Also, I cannot say enough about how awesome Armando is- tons of recommendations, super friendly, and always very quick to respond. I'm already looking forward to my next stay!

Firstly, all the comments about Armando are spot on. What a gem he was. He set up the place with balloons and a bottle of sparkly for my wife for her birthday. And the place is exactly as described. What a beautiful place, only a couple minutes from town and such a restful place.

Lugar increíble, con vista y acceso a la laguna, queda un poco lejos del centro es mejor llevar vehículo, pero tener el acceso a la laguna es algo maravilloso La cabaña muy bien todo dentro de ella Peros: las camas no son del todo cómodas valdría la pena renovar colchones . Las cortinas en la cabaña faltan algunas, lo cual Quita un poco la privacidad ( un poco porque es un lugar con muy poquitas habitaciones … eso está padre porque es un lugar muy silencioso, apacible y privado ) En general un muy buen lugar Además el dueño Erik súper atento y amable así como su perrito q es parte de lo bonito del lugar ! Si volveríamos con ellos Gracias

Todo super bien, lo recomiendo al 100 tiene una vista espectacular a la laguna, y puedes bajar a nadar sin problema, en su palapa con hamacas, esta muy bien.

Excelente lugar frente a la laguna! Vistas impresionantes. Muelle privado y kayaks disponibles. La atención súper bien. Teresa y Eric muy amables.! Un lugar para volver! Cuenta con servicio de cocina equipada por lo que se puede disfrutar en el lugar de toda la belleza natural. Amé al gato Henry y al perrito.

Muy buen lugar para quedarse en Bacalar. A la orilla del lago con buenas facilidades para pasarla bien. Prestan kayaks y paddles. La cabaña muy bien equipada. El único inconveniente es que el baño está afuera de la cabaña y que solo hay ventiladores (no AC). Muy buena atención de Armando.
