"This was our third or fourth stay at Hotel Glenwood Springs, so we came in knowing exactly what to expect. It’s not the most upscale option in town, but for the price, the location at the base of the adventure park, and a few key amenities, it has worked well for our family—until this visit.
Three hours before check-in, we received a call informing us that the pool had to be drained, cleaned, and refilled due to an accident. Completely understandable—things happen that are out of everyone’s control. What was disappointing, however, was the way the situation was handled from there.
When I spoke with Mia (who I later learned is the GM or Assistant GM), I was met with an unnecessarily rude and dismissive tone while being told there would be no compensation due to the unexpected closure. To be clear, I would have accepted that answer had it been communicated professionally. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. Instead, the conversation felt condescending, and the fact that we were “notified in advance” was repeatedly emphasized—as if a three-hour notice is a generous heads-up.
Given that the pool is a major draw for families (and a big reason we choose this hotel), more proactive communication would have gone a long way. Even a day’s notice could have allowed guests to make alternative plans. When we arrived, the pool was already nearly full, so it’s reasonable to assume this issue wasn’t discovered at the last possible moment.
It’s also worth noting that there appeared to be ample down"
"The concierge was super helpful with recommendations for things to do. She set us up with discounts for area activities. Would definitely stay here again."
