“I like quiet, safe places. I compared other locations near here. After trip here and near cities, I confirmed my choice of this area and hotel was right. Restaurants near hotel was also good, especially in the price.”

“Hot tub was on advertisement of the property, they had filled it in with cement, this was the main reason for booking at the lodge. They never offered anytime of compensation or future discount when I come back. I have stayed at this property for years when coming to visit”

“Rooms needs to be updated(walls, bathroom). Staff was great. Access for back parking lot boaters was great but it did have a washed out area(rut). Left real early to eat breakfast so didn't have time to see how it was.”

“Hotel right off Interstate..you can walk to fast food restaurant and gas station near by..microwave and small refrigerator was a plus..could be a little cheaper it was $106 a night..but over all good stay”

“The Gillen House is a perfect destination if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway that is close to Athens and not too far away from Atlanta. The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The food at breakfast was excellent. Especially the steaks and sides that we had for dinner on our arrival evening. The room was spotless and perfect. We definitely enjoyed our stay!”

“The pictures on the website looks nothing like what you actually walk in to. The front desk was unkept. I reserved a nonsmoking room but that’s all I smelled the entire time in the room. The screws were loose on the door latch in the room. The shower drain was dirty, the refrigerator had splatter stains on the door. The tv remote was sticky. The drink machine didn’t work properly and the hallway smelled like weed. ”

“Old, old, OLD and smells like cigarettes. No public restroom at check-in so if you're checking in, take a leak in the parking lot before you go in.”

“The room was heavily damaged, several holes in the walls, burn marks all over the bathtub, etc. It smelled as if no one had even cleaned it after the last guest. Nobody was here for check in... I had to call someone and wait for 15 minutes until he showed up. They charged extra for using a debit card AND charged me $5 for the reservation itself. I did not get that back. 1/5 do NOT recommend.”
