"Weather prevented us from full use of the property. Beach was easily assessable, pools and hot tub appear to be in good condition. Rooms are small and outdated but are acceptable for the value of the stay. Beds were comfortable "
"They are really trying to keep lipstick on the pig. Breakfast was no better or worse than any other continental. Private rooftop was probably the coolest thing about the hotel. Local is cool but there are newer places on the west side id probably stay at next time. My biggest complaint is the old, hard mattress and other cheap dirty furniture. Otherwise the room is setup weird. The larger TV is in front of a couch NOBODY wants to sit on, and the one for the bed is tiny. Oceanfront fees for trailer park digs basically. "
" Check-in was good. The property seemed nice. However, when we stepped in our room the smell was awful. We notified the front desk and someone came and sprayed a mixture of mr clean around the rooms. It did smell much better. That didn't last. I had to go purchase a candle. It smelled like mildew. Also, the sofa looked stained. I put a sheet over it so we could sit. We didn't use the appliances because they didn't look clean. There was issues with the toilet, we had to get a plunger. We will not be staying here again."
"The hotel should remove their old bath tubs and replace with a walk-in shower. The tub in our room was cracked and broken and had very high sides which made it difficult to get int it. A less able person than I would not have been able to have a shower or bath. In addition, breakfast choices were somewhat limited. They did not serve decaf coffee, and pastries were less than good."
"I think of a Ritz Carlton as an over the top experience but I feel the Amelia Island Ritz is underwhelming. With all resort fees, parking cost etc., the nightly room charge was $1400. That is no food or activity charges. We were disappointed their “Salt” restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday so did not get to eat there. Other eating options are fine but not special by any means."
"There was a putrid smell in our room. The staff said it was due to a paper mill in the area (although this was a Sunday) and moved us to another room. The smell was less obvious there but still present. It smelled like sewage. The smell seemed to pervade the entire area, even when we checked out. The television reception was poor and kept “stuttering.”
Also the bed was much too soft and the bed linens were very thin, likely needed replacement. There was no ice bucket in the room."
