“I checked in around 5:30 pm and there was no receptionist. I was escorted to my room by the very friendly and apologetic security officer. The first sight that greeted me was lizard poop on the armchair and a big fat lizard on the wall above. I could not stay in this room so I was escorted to the one next door. “The only reason this review for Magdalena Grand Beach &Resort is rated with 1 start is because there were no options to rate it as ZERO. A few facts: (1) Upon my arrival I had to move to 3 rooms before one was acceptable. First one horrible smell etc: 2nd one nasty toilet, 3-4 channels on TV only etc. (2) 2nd day, came back from beach and room had no hot water, not Tv, no internet etc. (3) Morning of 3rd day sent text to Manager, no response until I called about after 4PM and was informed...

“I booked this room at 7:48am on Friday 13th, October 2017 for the same day. Upon arriving at the hotel, the manager states that she cancelled my booking at 7:50am because there were no rooms available. No apology. Rooms were still listed on Expedia as available. I received no official correspondence regarding this cancellation.I was told by the front desk that they can cancel it on their system but I would need to call Expedia to let them know the situation. I am currently awaiting a refund....

“This property is 5 mins walk from the airport. Shops all within 2/3 mins walk. Breakfast is insane. Choice and amount and variety is excellent. Twin beds, iron, microwave fridge freezer shower tv and air conditioning. Kay the host is on hand to give you all the local information. 30 mins walk to beaches or local taxi available. Bar 10 mins away and easy transportation to town.”
