โDelightful old hilltop inn with commanding views over the Dales.
Friendly efficient staff.
Very well appointed spacious modern room ( Barrel).
Excellent stylish dinner: there is a chef behind the scenes!
Attractive base for walking/ touringโ
โSuper 2 days in a great spot.
Delicious breakfast and we ate at the hotel both evenings. Good choice of food. Averagely priced. Comfortable room but pillows a bit too firm for me.
Very pleasant and attentive staffโ
โA lovely location to stay for a few days walking.
Owners and staff welcoming and friendly, good food, breakfast & evening, good service. Shepherds huts are clean, warm & cosy.
Within good distance for both Chatsworth House & Bakewell also good walks from the inn.
I had a very pleasant stay, thank you to the staff.โ
โThe hotel was clean and well kept. Zero issues with the room or facilities as they all met expectations. All the staff were polite, professional and friendly. Special mention to Harry, Clare and the chef for going above and beyond to help with an issue I had(car trouble, not hotel related). Would recommend and would definately book again if in the area.โ
โThis hotel is located in a beautiful old building with a gorgeous garden. The rooms are charming. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each day and the bar in the evening. Nice wine selection! Its a great locattion for visiting Chatsworth House and the beautful scenery of the Peak Distict.โ
โAverage stay, tv not receiving signal, boiler broke down, although owner came out to fix within a few hours. Very poor welcome pack (small bottle of milk). No logs or kindling for log burner. View from back of cottage spoilt by messy and junk strewn garden. Nice location with good pubs in village that did good food, just check what days they open.โ
โThe perfect spot to enjoy the Chatsworth Estate and walk to the house.
The food is delicious and all from the area. Everyone is so kind and welcoming
I didn't want to leave!โ
