"The place is very run down and the shower caddy was dirty. We got bit overnight sleeping there. Don’t go here!"

"My husband and I stayed here for our baby moon, and we honestly couldn’t recommend this place more! After doing a painful amount of research, it was difficult to decide between this resort and a few other ones we found, but I am so glad we went with The Islander. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is lovely, and the setup of the resort is all you could hope for! We truly forgot we were still in the U.S. and not on a tropical island. We also lucked out with our room location, being right near the pool, so we didn’t have to get out there early to “reserve” chairs, didn’t have to go far to use the bathroom, etc. It’s a family-friendly resort, but it’s not like it’s impossible for adults without children to relax. I’d recommend The Islander to anyone looking to stay in Islamorada."

"Front desk failed to load door keys twice, had to go back to get them re-programmed twice. Shower was cold water and no one showed how to use or would come to address. Bad communication at hotel. "

"The resort itself is beautiful and well-maintained, with great amenities and a relaxing atmosphere—but unfortunately, our experience was significantly impacted by ongoing service issues. Housekeeping appeared to be severely understaffed. Over the course of several days, our room was not serviced despite repeated requests. Each time we reached out, we were assured that our room would be prioritized, but that never actually happened. It became frustrating having to continually follow up without seeing any results. In addition, we had a broken bathroom door that went unrepaired for most of our stay. We reported it early on, but it wasn’t addressed until the final night, which made it more of an inconvenience than something that was ever truly resolved. It wasn’t until we considered checking out early that we were finally able to speak with a manager. To his credit, he was professional, transparent, and genuinely apologetic. He acknowledged the issues and did what he could to make things right—but by that point, it was our last night, so the impact was limited. Overall, while the property itself is very nice, the lack of consistent housekeeping and delayed maintenance response detracted from our experience. By the end of the stay, we were honestly ready to leave."

"Wonderful property over all. Clean, comfy beds, pool area was fantastic. Over all good time. Just a minor run in with the tiki bartender over asking how the food ordering process worked. For that she yelled at me telling me how busy she was. I was asking for clarification. Told her I could just go elsewhere to order food. She was quite off putting and rude. "
