Apex City of Bath Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely hotel in a good location. Parking at Charlotte street was easily pre paid online. Rooms were huge with comfortable beds and a great shower and were very quiet. Would have liked bottled water in addition to the teas and coffees supplied but it’s a minor point.
Pool was fab, we had it all to ourselves! Good breakfast with a cold self serve buffet then an excellent choice of hot food to order along with cappuccinos, lattes etc.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely visit again."
"Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room (courtyard suite) was tired- chairs needed cleaning and foam in seats replacing, the wooden furniture was chipped. The spa was not good, staff were on phones and chatting at the reception area, meanwhile the changing rooms were full.if discarded slippers and towels and leaves from outside. The pool and decking area was also not kept clean and didn't look cared for (paper cups, weeds (nettles) and empty bin bags. There was a member of staff sweeping at the time we were in the pool but he wasn't doing it particularly thoroughly and swept around piles of seeds and leaves from the trees. The spa terrace and changing rooms were too small for the number of people using them so it didn't feel very relaxing. The hotel terrace was a nice, calm place to sit, as was the lounge and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was disappointing. Continental was 20 and there was very limited choice of pastries, meats, cheese and bread. The cooked was £26 and didn't feel like much more than I would get at a premier inn breakfast, bacon was pale, packet hashbrown and watery scrambled egg.fab location for bath city centre and front gardens were relaxing and well maintained. Not good value for money and disappointing for a 5 star hotel."
"During a 5 night stay twice the cleaning team overlooked cleaning our room.
Parking arrangement very good.
Overall the cooked breakfast was not hot.
The quantity of pre/cooked eggs was excessive for the speed that they were required, and looked unappealing. Perhaps the hotel could consider cooking the eggs to order"
"Parking is secure, but a little tight to gain access if you have an extra large car, the building is lovely very oldy worldy feel, staff are lovely friendly & helpful, food, good choice & breakfast was lovely, only complaint it could have all been hotter. but would stay here again."
"Staff were fab and friendly
Hotel was lovely
Room was lovely, however...
The beds are so hard, its like sleeping in a slab of concrete and the air con was a massive noise box on the floor.
Breakfast was delicious and the free flowing nutella was lovely."
