"I loved this hotel! It had everything you needed and felt very relaxed and unpretentious. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and the pool area and rooftop bar were both great. I also had a relaxing facial and massage in the spa. The breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. The barman in the rooftop bar was hilarious - trying to be grumpy but making me his “special” cocktails which were delicious 😋. I will definitely return the next time I’m in Funchal! "

"Great location for a wee break. Short walk from lots of great cafes, restaurants and the water front. The room was spacious, clean, balcony, comfortable beds, nice shower, plenty hot water. Complementary drink at the hotel bar was a nice touch although the hotel draught beer wasn’t the best! Breakfast had lots of lovely fresh fruit, unfortunately not fresh fruit juice but good choice of cooked options, breads, pastries etc. All in all would definitely recommend."

"I couldn’t recommend Zarco B&B enough! I stayed for a solo trip and it was perfect. The location is amazing - right on the marina waterfront in close proximity to shops, bars, restaurants - and taxis/tours are very happy to pick you up right outside. I felt very safe at all times and the 24 hour reception really helped with this (you can come and go as you please at any time). The rooms were clean and comfortable (with regular cleans during my 4-night stay). The staff were all so friendly; I needed some assistance with my room at one point and maintenance sorted it straight away. The gentleman on reception sent me off with a parcel of cakes as I was leaving before breakfast for my hike! The breakfast spread was a highlight - lots of choice and replenished well. I often woke to the smell of fresh bread! There are water dispensers for filling bottles and coffee machines too. Will definitely be back :)"
