"Not a bad place but it’s old . I would not stay here more than one night. We were a bit hesitant to stay here because of the bad reviews. But we did not see any signs of insects like other people are saying. The front desk was very nice they did a nice job checking us all in.there’s breakfast if you want to eat and there’s a pool and hot tub we did not use them but they look clean.
The hotel is close to sequoia national park that’s the main reason we stayed there."
"The location was good for visiting Kings Canyon NP since we couldn’t get reservations at Grant Village. The staff were great and check in was easy. They were friendly and helpful. The lodge had only been open for the season for a few days. Breakfast is included in room rate. However, it was pretty basic and they ran out of some items 30 minutes before mealtime was over with no replenishment and no one available to ask for additional items. We recognized the facility was built in 1940, but the walls were so thin we could hear everything from the room beside us as if they were in our room. There was no hot water for taking a shower the first night, but this was resolved the following day. All this could have been because of the recent reopening. That said, the lodge is in a great location. It’s a good low-end lodging option-very basic but overpriced."
"I absolutely loved the rustic charm of the lodge and its incredible location inside the park. It made it so easy to access many beautiful sites. The rooms and beds are comfortable and equipped with all the necessities. Also the onsite restaurant and pizza deck are a wonderful way to enjoy a great meal before and after exploring the park. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you so much for the great service!"
"The Hunters lodge could use repairs, you can see the sun coming through the door so the AC had a hard time keeping up. There were sugar ants in living room. Also the instant hot water shower is super confusing and all we could get was scalding hot water or ice cold water. In addition, you have to check in online ahead of time to get your PIN number for your room. Plus they charge a $70 security fee and $10 fee to use kitchen. Which I thought my unit had a kitchen but I didn’t know so I just clicked yes I want to use the kitchen. Well, that is separate from the kitchen in Hunters Lodge, and when I looked back on the description it didn’t specify if the kitchen was included or separate and we planned on using the kitchen so we paid the $10, here to find out I didn’t need to do that because my unit included it’s own kitchen and laundry. Master bed was super comfortable! That was a major plus! "
"This trip was meticulously planned to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, a significant milestone for my wife and me. However, the reality of the accommodation was not only disappointing but utterly unacceptable, leading us to abandon the trip and return home immediately.
The property failed to meet even the most basic standards of hospitality and hygiene in the following ways:
Deceptive Representation: The actual scenery and location were significantly different from the photos provided on your website.
Unsanitary Conditions: Upon entry, the floors and tables were covered in thick yellow dust, indicating a total lack of cleaning.
Severe Hygiene Issues: The pillowcases were unwashed and emitted a foul, unbearable odor. It was impossible for us to remain in such an unsanitary environment."
"Scenery was gorgeous. The place could really use an update and a little better cleaning. We unfortunately had to leave a day early because snow was coming and could not get a refund because we booked on Expedia."
"The Staff Person was very helpful and gave helpful suggestions to make our stay enjoyable.
To help your guests, have enough towels and coffee for all assigned to room.
Have Maintenance Staff pull beds out to clean under head of bed and the a/c unit.
Overall, we would stay here again. Thank you for adding to our traveling experience."
