"Great location, very clean and comfortable rooms."

"First the good: the hotel location was perfect, in-town, and close to Canada Place with many amenities nearby. The staff was nice and helpful. And the hotel was clean enough. I would stay there again. The bad: The room was too dark for my taste. An overhead light would have been useful. The light orb on the desk blinds your eyes without lighting the desktop very well. The safe didn't work. When I inquired about it, I was told that someone would come by my room in 10-minutes to look at it. No one came. I had to nag again to get it addressed. The hotel shower head was old and needed updating. The water pressure was lackluster. The T.V. guide didn't match what was on T.V. The provided water in green plastic bottles tasted funny. The heating/cooling didn't work at all. The room was 24C and no amount of changing the thermostat made it cooler. Note that the front desk people could also change your thermostat remotely. So, the room temperature was not ideal for sleeping. It would have been great if the window opened if only a crack."

"The Kingston has all the things I love about travel. The building itself is really old. My room was a twin with a sink and a shower down the hall. It was clean, comfortable, and felt like a real place instead of a generic hotel room. It's owned by a local family and a lot of the staff is part of the family. It's the first place I've been where the overnight staff was super accommodating. If you need perfect linens, expensive soaps, and a high end bar, its not for you. If you want a quiet and comfortable space in the best location in Vancouver, it probably is."

"This hotel is decent. Our only complaint is that it is way too expensive. The amenities do not justify the price that we paid. There are no tissue boxes in the room, no coffee machine in the room, no lotion. It would be fine if you were paying $100 or $150 per night at most. We paid far more than that, unfortunately. I guess that’s just Vancouver."
