The staff were so amazing! We travelled with a baby and while there was stairs they helped carried everything up, let us check in early and had a free wine on the house! Super lovely room, and the bar downstairs was delicious. We loved the location!

Lovely room, helpful staff. Has air conditioning which was appreciated. Word of warning, room we stayed in was on top floor. There are lots of stairs, so if mobility is an issue be aware when booking there is no lift. Well placed for transport links and access to central London. No breakfast but plenty of local places to eat. Would happily stay again.

Beautiful and unique, with friendly service. The location is outstanding very close to the train station with access everywhere and still relatively walkable. The dog portraits were a treat. No lift though - steep winding stairs. True english charm.

Lovely stay here for 3 nights. Super handy for accessing transportation but also a great location to be able to walk into the main areas. Room super clean and air con so needed in the hot weather. Staff super friendly as well.

I think the important thing to understand is that these lodgings are not a proper hotel but rooms above a pub - nice, spacious, well-appointed rooms. But you do not get the convenciance and comfort of a hotel space and staff. The rooms are up a steep narrow staircase above an occasioanlly noisy pub. These concerns were not an issue for me but I think they would be for some. The area is convenient and near the tube and railways.

Convenient location close to and train stations. Well Maintained accommodation with aesthetically pleasing fixtures and fittings. Comfy bed and helpful staff. Unfortunately we discovered long dark hairs in the shower and on the bathroom floor but not until we returned later in the evening. If not for this would have been 5 star Would still recommend.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Small Euro bath was to be expected big bagger than many and nicely appointed. The room was attractively decorated and had absolutely everything we needed. Staff was wonderful. We enjoyed a beer in the pub upon arrival (free for those checking in) and lunch on the day of our departure. Decent pan Asian menu. Only two factors prevented a 5 start rating: 1. No lift. 56 stairs to the top floor and room 6. Narrow, winding and one stretch with no hand rail. 2. Monday morning was quite noisy as workers started moving around large metal components (scaffolding?) before 7AM. Not the most pleasant way to wake up and it went on for at least 2 hours. But in spite of these factors we would definitely stay again. Very convenient to Farringdon Station with direct access to both Heathrow and Gatwick, and walkable to the theater district, museums and plenty of food choices. Good location and a good value.

As long as you don’t mind the oft mentioned precarious stairs ( best compared to those leading to the toilets in many old London pubs- tight , and narrow - with the exception that these are carpeted and well maintained ) the place is great. Clean and air conditioned and modernized with an attentive cleaning staff and quick check in. Nice location near Farringdon tube station and not far from a few bus stops. Walking distance from Holborn Viaduct and St Brides church as well as many convenience stores and restaurants and pubs- notably the One Tun right downstairs where we stopped for a bite of duck spring rolls and a pint before our adventures. Room 5 was snug but not claustrophobic, tiny little fridge kept our sodas cold until morning. They added bottled water any time we drank those provided. Also had a kettle and teas and a bag of chips ( crisps ). Shower and sink tap had good pressure and was hot ( almost too hot. Be careful and get familiar with how it operates) We had a little deck coated in Astro turf that, although not exactly picturesquely located in the tight alleys of the city, was nice to sit out after a long day of walking the city. Online pics represent pretty well what we experienced and we would recommend to anyone. Especially anyone who travels light and doesn’t require a lift.
