Renovation works outside our room

This hotel was awful, we had renovations going on right outside our room. We thought that we were going for a relaxing holiday but ended up in a building site. When we asked the management if our room could be changed we were told that they were fully booked, therefore we asked them to get the builders to pack up and not start work again until we leave, the manager agreed to do this but then the next morning we woke up to banging, rubbing down paint, scraping of walls and fumes every where at 9am. We would never recomend this hotel to anyone!

A great disappointment with a real let down...

Every night guests sat by the pool chatting, laughing, coughing. A nightmare. We heard their conversation clearly in our room even shutting the window and door ( wide gaps between the wooden panels). In the end sent an email to the ryad's manager at 11:30pm. While we were just about to fall asleep, we heard some strange noise from the ceiling, we then realised there were some rats running around inside the ceiling pillars. We reckoned the ceiling pillars were hollow and made of wood. The mice/rats got inside the pillars and were running around like a race throughout the night. We also had a major issue with our shower. There was no shower curtain for the shower, so every time when we were having a shower, the whole bathroom would be flooded with water. And the worst bit was, we needed to dry the floor ourselves with 4 towels. After complaining to the manager about the noise, the rats and the shower, we were told we could move to a different room for the last two nights, but when we spoke to the manager again about the move on day 3 morning, she told us all other rooms were now booked, therefore we were not changing room anymore. During our 5-day stay at the ryad, there were some renovation works happening inside the building. We do feel being deceived by the ryad that it has never mentioned such works to us prior to our arrival.

The description of the Riad says 5 star but it is a 3 star hotel! That made me a little disapointed because I felt that it is made to make guests confused. Breakfast should improve as well as service to guests like where to go, how things work in Morocco and etc. On the other hand the architecture is good.

Colazione ottima, ristorante da provare, servizio impeccabile e personale disposto a soddisfare ogni nostra richiesta. Vicino alla Medina. La piscina ci ha salvati dalle giornate più calde. Che dire, se venite a Marrakech non perdere l’occasione di soggiornare in questo fantastico Riad!

Bien mais attention aux excursions et problème eau

Joli Riad avec piscine cela est agréable lors des fortes températures. Le petit déjeuner avec thé et jus orange frais ainsi que fruits et pâtisserie est appréciable. Le personnel est agréable et attentif. Cependant durant notre séjour de 5 nuits problème de pression d’eau voir plus d’eau du tout 1 seule journée correcte avec manque d’information de la part de l’hôtel ! Car le problème vient uniquement de l’hôtel et non du quartier. Attention aux excursions proposés je vous conseille de vous renseigner autour car souvent moins chers et pas forcément les meilleurs prestations.

Lovely Riad in a quiet but convenient part of the old town, minutes from Clock Cafe and a 15 minute walk to the big square. Very helpful and welcoming staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and a beautiful pool to cool off in. We would definitely stay here again!

Was there 5 nights with my wife and just got back a few hours ago. It was great, traditional, helpful staff and beautiful. Along with these pros the cons would be, there is no iron, alittle far from restaurants, market and alittle expensive. But u do reccomend you go stay there for a few nights, enjoy the services they provide and Marrakesh.

Amazing riad that I would thoroughly recommend. Breakfast is great and the hosts were great. Only problem was the rooms were not sound proof and we could hear everyone talking from the ground floor, when they were in the pool but as its an old building, there isn't much you can do about that. If we are ever in Marrakech again we will definitely come back.

Horrible!! A fuir!

Je ne peux que recommander de passer votre chemin. C'est de loin notre pire expérience au Maroc... Le riad semble beau d’extérieur, mais ne vous y trompez pas, les chambres sont vétustes, le gérant, pas du tout aimable. Nous avons passé une nuit horrible. Il y a tellement de riad beaucoup plus sympa, allez ailleurs!!

I liked the road itself . Beautifully decorated and presented. I didnt like not feeling confortable returning as we always seemd to have to wait for someone to open the door. At night , this wasnt great. All other riads i e stayed it gave guests a key to the front door.

Le Palais Calipau est un havre de paix. Très joli riad, idéalement situé aux chambres très joliment décorées. Le personnel est adorable ( Abdou et Maria sont des fées ) et feront tout pour rendre votre séjour exceptionnel.

Great Riad

Very nice riad. The staff were welcoming and very friendly, the riad itself was a gem and the location was not too far from the center. The room was nice, beds were okay, only downside was the toilet. There isn't a real door to close when you're visiting the bathroom, meaning everything will be heard by others in the room.

Beautiful riad located near Kasbah. The property was excellently decorated keeping a traditional Moroccan theme. Location was good with only a short 10 minute walk to Jemaa El Fna (the main square) and 5 minutes away from the Sadiaan tombs. Staff were very polite and helpful. My only niggle was the lack of variety for breakfast, however other than this I would highly recommend!
