"We stayed at Midway house for a three night break in April. The host was very knowledgeable and told us the best way to get into town, the bus and walking routes and where the tourist attractions were. He even provided a map, which was very helpful. Room and bathroom were very clean and tidy. Housekeeper emptied the bins and changed the cups, coffee and tea supplies daily. They also gave us clean towels during our break. Only criticism was the noisy stairs. They were very creaky and we could hear people coming and going. Would recommend this guest house, but not if you are a light sleeper."

"The hotel reception looked up to date and the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, upon arriving to our 'family' room, there were only 2 mugs (not 4), 3 sets of towels (not 4) and there was a massive wine stain on the carpet. How anyone could miss this and still give the room to a family is shocking. I have to say when I showed reception, they asked if I wanted to change rooms but as we were only staying overnight there was no point. They also added to the mugs and towels happily but I'm disappointed it wasn't already considered. They knew a family was booked in as the sofa bed was made up. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant which was really nice, we were impressed with the food and the children were well looked after, and on top of that 'kids ate free' which was a lovely surprise! "

"The river rooms are best as there is alot of early morning traffic in the roadside rooms. Other than that the hotel and staff were great."

"2rd stay at this hotel. Refused upgrade said not available. Had to argue for a 1 1/2 hour late checkout we did get a one hour late( why not give the extra 1/2 hour we asked for. No free parking mentioned. We never ate at this hotel too expensive. The bar is small and difficult to find a seat except spillover in hall. Bar staff were very nice but to busy to talk and drinks were crazy expensive. The bathroom sink only produced scalding hot water or cold.😡 For a five star we expected better service"
