“Beautiful hotel! ”

“My room and sheets and towels were spotless, check in and out was very easy and it was lovely to have air con during the heatwave!”

“Delusions of grandeur. A very small room with barely enough room to open a suitcase, slightly shabby decor. So many cushions on the bed that when you removed them they took up most of the available floor space! Bathroom ok but nowhere to put toiletries. Dinner ok, but nothing special. It was all “ok” but disappointing compared to the hype on the website.”

“Overall our one night stay was very good, location and food was brilliant, the only complaint we had, was the mattress on the bed was awful, it was lumpy and we kept falling into the middle, we did tell the staff on leaving, hopefully this will be addressed immediately. Would stay there again if in the area.”

“Wonderful clean room with many amenities. Exceptional dinner and breakfast all served by very friendly staff. Hotel is in a beautiful setting with lovely large patio, plenty of outside comfortable seating with marvellous views across the gardens. Second time we have stayed here and will definitely be back again!”

“The staff were all excellent The parking very good Ev chargers made a difference Our room 305 was a top rated room but could be made better with a few little tweaks. Eg Some of the tiles over the bath need re grouting as do a couple of floor tiles. The fire escape windows could not be locked properly which gave us a bit of worry about security while we were not in the room. “Self check in was easy. Liked that the doors were code operated. Room was spacious, clean and well thought out. Hairdryer was excellent! Bathroom was clean and functional. Breakfast was great. The hotel is very clean and fresh, would visit again!”

“Gaining entry and checking in eas was more complicated than it needed to be. The walls in my bedroom were paper thin and I could here absolutely every thing from the room next door, the squeak in the mattress everyone the occupant turned over, the headboard banging against the wall, every movement that was made. To top it off I was looking forward to eating in the property only to discover that the chef had gone AWOL. The best thing about my stay was I was only there for 1 night”

“Even though there are positives in that this hotel is located in a quiet area and has ample parking I do not know how it is rated a 4 star. The decor is from the 70’s and needs a serious update. Even though the website says there is a fan in the room I had to go down to reception and ask for one. The carpets need replacing and there is no ramp into the reception area so you have to carry any luggage up and down stairs. No fridge in the room either. The wi-if was so bad I couldn’t have a 5 minute...

“Great spot, easy to drive to. Rooms good size, we had a twin room with 2 single beds which looked like they were usually fastened together to make a double. Singles quite narrow.”

“As usual my stay was wonderful The staff cannot do enough for you Standards in all areas are very high! This is what keeps me returning…on that note, I’m wondering if there could be some kind of reward , ie a free dinner, or returning guests?!”

“Really comfortable bed. Super clean. Great for a couple of nights stay. Close to the University to meet up with our daughter. Would recommend the Beth Chatto Garden near by for a visit. ”
