"We had a warm welcome from the owner, and the apartment we stayed in was a good size, with a separate bedroom and living/kitchen area. The apartment is above a garage (separate to the rest of the hostel) and below the owners living area. The kitchen was mostly well equipped, with a microwave, oven, hob, filter coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine, plenty of crockery and pans. However, there is no kettle (we used a pan to boil water on the hob) and it was woefully short on cutlery,...

The location cannot be more central &, though an old traditional building, it has been well maintained and the room was very clean and comfortable. "Excellent location if you like hiking - the mountains and countryside were on the doorstep. Run by an enthusiastic and very genial ornithologist. Slight miscommunication on check in that cost us an extra €20 which was unforeseen and a little annoying but we were happy to pay it. Service from staff was exceptional and the food served in the bar was delicious. TV didn’t work in the bedroom and a fan would have been welcome as it was hot when we stayed. "

"Lovely hotel in the centre of Ávila. Comfy bed and the room had great A/C which was needed in the heat. The staff we met were all very nice and friendly. Breakfast was good for setting us up for the day. We parked in a car park just outside the city walls about a five minute walk from the hotel. Would recommend if staying in Ávila."
