Holiday Inn Resort The Squire at Grand Canyon by IHG
8/10 Good
"Our stay at The Squire was fantastic!! Wonderful amenities for couples/families. We enjoyed the outdoor bar, the pool/hot tubs, the s'mores on the patio, the pool tables in the game room, etc. The location was great with restaurants/stores nearby and very easy access to Grand Canyon park. The only (very small) issue was our room wasn't cleaned daily. But when we asked for housekeeping it came immediately and was done well.
We did experience a vacation "first". There were exceptionally high winds so the electricity was shut off for about 24 hours to prevent wildfires. The hotel staff handled the situation professionally. We chose to stay and wait it out and it turned out to not be a big deal at all."
"It was exactly what we expected. Nice old lodge, just steps to get to the edge of the canyon to see the sunrise! Centrally located too, if you wanted to hop on a shuttle! We watched World Cup games in a cute, adjoining tavern. It is July and there was a heat wave, and we knew there was no a/c. The windows open, and a table top fan was provided but we were definitely hot overnight, so if you need cool to sleep, this may not be the place for you. Still, we were very happy and would def stay there again."
"It is old, but the location was breathtaking. Rooms were very small but clean. The morning coffee on the mezzanine was put out late for people starting the day early. The restaurant and the restaurant staff were incredible."
