Azul Beach Resort Negril, Gourmet All Inclusive by Karisma
10/10 Excellent
"Beach AMAZING- NO Sargassum. If you are looking for a beach front resort this is your place! My husband and I travel to the Caribbean a few times a year. We are definitely beach people. Our only wants are clean comfortable bed, spacious room (we had a honeymoon beachfront), beautiful beach with comfortable loungers, decent food options (including room service), and hassle-free beach towels. We found all of those here. Food- many daily options from buffet (shout out to Marion at breakfast and lunch-who was always ready with our usual orders), jerk chicken station, burger bar, and coffee bar including snacks and soft serve. Evening dining- many restaurants to choose from-our favorite was the Asian. Most importantly is the accommodating staff who would ask daily if there were any wants or needs. Our bartenders TINA and SHERYL were over the top. They were attentive to all and friendly and happy throughout our stay. We enjoyed hanging with them daily.
Cons- could use some cosmetics inside and out but remember they are still recovering from the major hurricane they endured in October. We gave them a pass on this. Enjoy!"
"Very nice resort. Very clean!!! Food was okay. Beach was beautiful; loved how there were palm trees everywhere and so you could pull up a lounge chair for shade. I understand it was a kid friendly resort but I absolutely hated having pure alcohol poured on top of the slushee drink. You would think at least at the adults only pool, that that could be mixed in in the machine.
As for the staff, I have to say I am disappointed. I stayed at a RIU in Cancun last year and the staff were exceptional. I felt a lot of the staff were very rude. Very unkind and acted as if they hated their job. No smiles. I would compliment them and they wouldn’t say anything or even smile. When I got my face painted for the white party the girl was PISSED that there was a line and when she turned around and saw a line she said “damn”. She wouldn’t converse with me or anything. It kind of killed my mood. NOW there were workers who were very kind. Oneil was a bartender at the wedding we attended and at the front bar by the entrance and he was great!!! Whitney with RIU fun was a hoot! Loved her. Other workers did not have their vibe or energy. And they were VERY pushy for tips. Even at the wedding we attended, my husband said thank you to everyone and one of the waiters said “well aren’t you going to tip me?” After we had tipped OUR waiter and Oneil.
I honestly do not know if we will return to this resort as nice as it is just because the workers realllly killed the vibe. "
"When we were looking for a place to stay we wanted a place that was retro. We are not a fan of super new and fancy places. They are too sterile and disconnected.
The Samsara fit the bill, it has everything you need and the location is awesome.
The rooms were clean and property is kept. You can tell that there was significant cleanup from the storm last year.
The staff are all very nice and helpful. A shout out to Jennifer at the front desk.
The bartenders made great drinks and were nice to engage with.
The thing we like the most was we felt we were able to engage with an authentic Negril experience.
