Flew into see Gorillaz at the Mortgage Matchup Center. Hotel was a block from venue making a short walk to the show and back. Clean, spacious room and food complimentary breakfast. Will definitely stay again in the future.

This hotel was perfect for a weekend in Phoenix and a concert. Tucked away behind Mortgage Matchup, it brought convenience and comfort that enabled us to walk everywhere and enjoy the city without paying an arm and a leg. The staff was friendly and hotel was clean.

Love the concept. Felt more like our apartment than a hotel, and the little food shop in the lobby felt like raiding the fridge rather than shopping . Great location, all staff where friendly and helpful. Above average free breakfast.

The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when we had questions. The breakfast was probably a 7 out of 10—not bad, with a decent variety of options for different tastes. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the room was questionable. In the bathroom, next to the door and just above the toilet paper dispenser, there was a hole in the wall with what appeared to be blood around it. The shower also had a crack along the side that looked like it was starting to grow something inside it. The pull-out couch had hair on it and looked dirty, almost as if it hadn't been properly cleaned in quite some time. Our window looked directly at a brick wall, so the view definitely wasn't a selling point. The biggest issue, however, was the parking fee. The $45-per-night parking charge felt like a hidden fee that wasn't made obvious enough when booking. Most hotels that charge for parking clearly advertise something like “Valet parking available for $XX per night.” Here, the parking fee felt more like something you discovered after the fact, and there really wasn't a practical way to avoid it. To make matters worse, the valet service couldn't park a vehicle with a manual transmission, so our car was simply left parked on the street overnight. If you're charging $45 a night for parking, I would expect the hotel to actually provide secure parking for the vehicle. Unless you're specifically staying here because you're attending a Diamondbacks game, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Overall, this was a very comfortable stay. The room (#231) was very spacious, beautiful, and well stocked with everything needed. The window had a pleasant view looking out to Chase Field and the Mortgage Matchup Arena. I attended a concert at the arena, so it was nice to be just across the street. They even adjusted the lobby music to cater to all of the fans staying at the hotel. The valet parking may seem pricy at first, but it is really only a couple of dollars more than any of the nearby self-parking options. Valet staff were very friendly, and the pickup and payment process was very quick and easy to use. I highly recommend using them. I have 2 improvements I would suggest though. First, all of the soaps and washes in the room seem to have moisturizers built in. While this would normally be a good thing for Arizona dryness, in my case I wear contact lenses and these soaps left my hands very oily. It was so hard to get my lenses clean enough to be usable. The second improvement would be the breakfast area. While there is plenty of seating, the serving area is very small and there are very few options to choose from. When a big group of guests all come at the same time, it is very chaotic and more popular items may be gone.

The hotel and staff were good but Expedia failed to notify me when I made the reservation that the hotel had no parking and valet parking was required for which there was a $46 charge. I will never use Expedia again.

At check-in we got into the elevator then 2 staff members got in with a huge cart. They stopped the floor before us and emptied out their cart so one of them could take it and the other one carried the stuff up. The microwave in our room was broken. I was with my 2 granddaughters for a show and a movie night after. In the morning housekeeping walked in our room and woke us up. They did apologize however they stood out front our door chitchatting for at least 5 minutes.

Room was very large and well equipped. The window shades were automatic. There were no instructions on the wall unit and people had tried to force it up and down and it was ragged and would not work. Maintenance came and put it down for us.
