"I was pleasantly surprised at how adorable this place was! It had a bedroom attached to a living room area that had a mini fridge, sink, couch and table. You can tell it’s been renovated and there is work being done nearby of an additional rooms. The beds are super comfy and I appreciated all of the touches they did to make this place boutique~e and cute. Would stay there again."
"Everyone was so friendly, kind, and obviously knowledgeable about the area. They gave us great recommendations for other places around town to see, and we had an amazing time.
The food at The Counter was so so good! Everything felt cozy but had a quiet luxury to it. We loved everything on our stay! We will definitely be back again soon!!"
"Good hotel in a good location in historic downtown Beverly close to good restaurants and coffee houses. The rooms are small so it’s probably best for a few nights but not long term. One design flaw is that the bathrooms have swinging frosted glass doors which don’t provide enough privacy and cause the room to be flooded with light if anyone has to use the bathroom at night. Also, the rain shower was uncomfortable. All in all a well managed, pleasant place to stay."
"Staying in this historic hotel is quite the experience. It's stepping back in time. If you're looking for a real cultural experience in Salem, this hotel is hard to beat. The staff was also super helpful and all the instructions were super clear. The property itself is beautiful and invites you to explore. It's clear that they take excellent care of it. A word of advice for tall individuals or those who are looking for comfort, the ceilings are very low, about 6ft from the floor, and the stairs are narrow and winding. At least some of the bathrooms are shared, which is not a problem when there are no other guests. Also the tub is very old fashioned and has an even lower ceiling clearance. Again, it's part of the experience so I wouldn't change any of it, but it's not for everyone. That said, highly recommended!"
