Such a beautiful and unique stay. The open area in the middle is a great spot for drinks and dinner in the restaurant didn't feel like we were eating at a hotel. We'd love to come back!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The property was exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. The staff was absolutely amazing, friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. We love this hotel, this is our second time staying here and it didn’t disappoint us!!! The staff were extremely friendly and kind!!!! Just because of the staff ( front desk and the man in charge of helping us with our bags! He made us feel so welcome and happy) and location we will be coming back!

We had read the rooms would be small, as the hotel is hundreds of years old, but the bathroom was closet size. For the price we expected attention to detail, but the tile floor in the shower was stained and an actual chunk of feces was stuck in a corner. Never encountered that before anywhere. Being an old hotel one could expect to find limited elevator space, but we became annoyed with standing around waited for the singular, extremely slow elevator in this property, and took the stairs to the 5th floor a time or two. Food and service was good, though served in an outdoor setting subjected us to the heat and humidity.

Love this property! Best hotel in the Old San Juan. Courteous staff, beautiful grounds, extremely clean and we loved the coffee / water bar on the 3rd floor with the terrace overlooking the city. They even upgraded us to a suite for no additional charge. We will be back!

Staying at Hotel El Convento was the best decision I made when deciding to stay in Old San Juan. The employees ensure you have the most pleasant experience and are very responsive. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and blends in with the Old San Juan aesthetic. It has a lot of fascinating history mixed in with the local art displayed throughout the hotel. I highly recommend this property. It's beauty and history are incredible. The hotel pays for a walking history tour of the hotel and old San Juan which was great. I enjoyed the complementary coffee in the morning and wine and cheese in the evening. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shopping.
