Dorint City-Hotel Salzburg

"Extremely disappointing stay. The room and bathroom were not clean on arrival, and basic amenities such as conditioner and toothpaste were not provided. The air conditioning did not work, and there was no hot water in the shower, which are fundamental services that should be available in any hotel. What made the experience even worse was the attitude of the concierge, who was rude and unhelpful when assistance was requested. I raised these issues through Expedia after my stay, but the hotel declined to offer any compensation or take responsibility for the problems experienced. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel and would not stay here again."

"We had a wonderful stay for four nights at the Hyperion. It is a beautifully furnished and decorated hotel and our rooms were spacious and very well appointed. There was a coffee/ tea machine, fridge, safe, free minibar which was topped up daily and even chocolates every day! The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the breakfast, which was included in our package, was lovely, with lots of choice. The hotel location was perfect! Very close to Mirabel Gardens and a short, flat walk (about 10 minutes) across the river to the old town, where the main attractions are. Probably the best thing though, was the friendly and helpful staff, who went over and above to make our stay as comfortable and easy as possible."

"Parked my car in the backyard for 24 euros per day which is not bad. The rooms were clean but small. Well designed but some people might not like the dark green color. Location is great next to the train station with grocery stores. Overall the experience was good but it’s not cheap. It would have been better if the staff were a bit more friendly. I didn’t try the breakfast but the selections didn’t look many."

"The hotel is close to train station and little far from the old town. It is a new building and all facilities are new. In room, there is no cold water bottle. I remember that there is neither coffee spoon nor stir in room. Overall, it is an excellent hotel."

"Very nice modern room, stayed for 3 nights and room was cleaned daily. There is a room safe and the bed came with 2 x single duvets. Tea and coffee was available in the lounge downstairs but there is no obvious bin or spoons for stirring the sugar or squeezing the T bag if that is your wish. However when we asked the gentleman on reception he was very accommodating and found some for us. We did I not have breakfast as there were several shops that sold pastries that we wanted, within a 10 minute walk."

"First of all, the rooms are shockingly small....so much so that there was almost no space on one side of the bed. I tried to get down in the middle of a night and my ankle got bruised by the sharp edge of the bed. Second, the staff were simply rude and unhelpful initially. On one of the evenings, we decided to hang out with our friends in the lounge room and they didn't have all of the lights on. So, when we asked them to turn them on and they said we had to buy something from the bar before they do it! In the last couple of days, their attitudes improved, maybe because of the scathing review I left. But the reality is that we wouldn't have booked this hotel at any rate. Besides extremely compact size of the rooms and terrible coffee, they don't understand the hospitality sector."
