Brae Lea is far more than one would expect. The location is a short walk to the Ferry Terminal at Lochboisdale - yet driving from the north, you feel as if you’re nestled in the foothills of a mountain (because you are). Rupert is an outstanding host, and he doubles as a 5-Star concierge. He helped us sort travel and touring arrangements as well as made breakfast and suggested dinner options. Emma was an amazing host. The property was clean, the host was welcoming, and the breakfast was superb with a variety of fresh fruits and muffins to go with your main dish. (Definitely say yes to the porridge!!) Be aware, the property is not near any shops or... anything at all, really. It’s a proper country house surrounded by beautiful nature (and right in front of a bus stop) so if you want to eat out or get groceries you’ll have to plan for it as the closest store is 4-5 miles away. What a lovely stay! Albert and Aileen run a beautiful B&B - spotless, quiet, and so conveniently located. Albert was very helpful, offering to answer any questions even after we checked out. We also got to meet their dog which was very welcome after nearly two weeks away from our own. I’m not usually a B&B person but I would definitely stay again. And I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone to give it a try.

During our 2-week visit to Scotland, I managed to catch RSV. I was miserable. And by the time we reached Portree, I was struggling to breathe. My husband spoke to the Cuillin Hills hotel staff about how to go about seeing a doctor and they immediately got to helping us out. The desk staff spent over an hour on hold with the NHS to help establish my "temporary resident" status so that we could even get in to see a doctor. I can’t imagine a better place to stay in Lerwick than the Fort Charlotte Guest House. The place is a gem, a mere steps from the heart of Lerwick. The rooms are clean, quiet and cozy. The staff is hospitable and full of helpful ideas and advice. Ryan’s email communication during and in advance of our stay was exceptional, both timely and informative. Lovely room. Breakfast was fantastc. Hostess Debra helpful. Lovely common room with good selection of Orcadian history, bird watching and ancient sites. Mainland Orkney is an amazing place. Too much to see, too little time. Should have spent a week there. Strommness does nothave many food choices..

Really enjoyed the little cabins, everything we needed for a nice night was in the little cabin. The host offered anything we needed from nice conversation at the on site bar, to recommendations for local sites and food. This hotel is about 7 miles onto the Isle after crossing the bridge so after a long day of driving, arriving quickly at the hotel was very pleasant.

We only spent one night here but it was one of our favorite places of the two week trip. The house is very nice, well kept, and comfortable. We stayed in the Rum room, which is spacious and luxurious. Easily one of the nicest rooms we’ve ever stayed in. The breakfast was great, and the dining room is open and pleasant, and the food was delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful too. Also, the garden and the view are hard to beat. Would highly recommend!

We spent 3 nights at Karrawa House in mid April. The room was as described. My bed was super comfy. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was exceptional. Would stay there again and would definitely recommend the place.

This is a VIP cabin in the middle of heaven. The surrounding looks like it's out of a nature postcard. Location is very convinient to explore Skye, assuming you have a car. You do need one to stay at this cabin.

The manager Bryce gave us excellent recommendations for dights to see at the south end of the island and where to park on a weekend in Kirkwall. Such a unique setting and quiet.

Wonderful hosts, very accommodating. Lovely spot with a view of the Isle of Mull across the bay. Had one of the best pasta meals in my life. Well worth the drive.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, beautiful accommodations, comfortable and well appointed rooms,very comfortable bed, spacious rooms, welcome bottle of wine , delicious food nicely presented, stunning scenery, close parking, we were treated like royalty!!!
