"I was really worried after I read all the bad reviews on google. It’s an older hotel but our room had been updated and the couch and bed were both comfy. Pillows were on the firmer side but I always take my own. Even though we were on the top floor our room stayed nice and cool in the very hot day.. Loved that it was close to the shopping. A little bit of a walk to get to the beach but we never made it down there. Would highly recommend hotel. We enjoyed our stay and glad we didn’t listen to reviews. Front desk and cleaning people all very nice and helpful."

Holiday Inn Express & Suites St Joseph by IHG

"They had a fire in the detached restaurant/reception venue so that area was looking a little creepy. It is separate from the hotel, so no safety concerns, but they should maintain the gardens and clean its large outside seating area. Overgrown and creepy. There are big renovations going on in the hotel, so there were workmen and equipment here and there. The hotel is aging, but they are trying to upgrade. The lobby and breakfast area are new since we visited in the summer of 2025. The halls and room have been redone. New furniture, carpet, walls. It looks nice. The pool area needs renovation, as does the outside enclosed garden. I suppose they are working on fixing the place up, and the fire may have delayed things. They really should have someone go around the hotel and pull the weeds that are growing in the flowerbeds. That is an easy job, would take no time at all, and help to improve the outside appearance of the hotel. The reservation got mixed up, and the lady at the desk worked hard to get it right. We had 8 people (lots of little ones) and we needed the room with 2 queens, pull out sofa and bunk beds. Looks like there is only one of those rooms. Thanks to the woman at the desk that helped us get into the room that I had officially reserved. What I return? Absolutely. It is a great place for families with younger kids. The people are very nice and we will return."

"We reserved a room with a king-size bed but were given a room with two standard beds instead. When you check in, be sure to confirm that your room matches the reservation you paid for. The hotel said the issue was due to Hotels.com not providing the correct reservation details. Also, keep in mind that weekends are extremely busy during the summer, so it's a good idea to book well in advance if you're planning to stay here. Despite the mix-up, I would stay here again. The room was clean, and the staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating."

"This was a great two bedroom one bath apartment in an older building that has been completely renovated. The renovation was perfect and the furniture/design was actually lovely. At a couple of moments, we all said that we would buy one of these apts if they were available. We were a short - maybe 1/2 mile walk down to Weko beach or a short walk into the town of Bridgman. We would absolutely stay there again."

"The hotel was clean, but older. Our room was nice, clean linens and newer window coverings. We had an issue with our shower, only scalding hot water came out. We made due for the first day and the manager changed out the valve when we returned in the afternoon. Great service. Water park was an extra charge but rate was reduced for us. Breakfast was nice and area is kept very clean."
