Room was flithy. Spent over an hour cleaning it upon arrival. Stains/burn holes in carpet. Bedroom smelled. Bathtub had blk hair in it. Pool smelled like algae and colour looked off. No communication that u need to get to this hotel by going over the LRT tracks into a parking garage, up a lift 2 the 4th floor, walk through the parking garage into a walkway over a street & then buzz to be let into the 2nd floor, walk to another lift, down a floor and finally check in at the reception. ALL WHILE LUGGING YOUR LUGGAGE!!!! Same process to exit hotel everday when going out somewhere.

PROs: The locations is great in a really cool old building. Very walkable to Pyrmont wharf, coffee shops, restaurants, Fish Market. The room was a nice size for a family. The swimming pool is great. CONs: The apartments are very tired…. It is clear that they haven’t been refreshed at all since the 90s. The carpet is really worn out. Not all of it can be attributed to age… they just desperately need to be deep cleaned. I would expect a lot better for the money we paid.

Stayed 6 nights over the last week of Mardi Gras, booked 7 months in advance as the whole city is over priced as the event gets closer. The studio was overall great for our need. The studio was very spacious with balcony, convenient and overall quiet. We were able to prepare simple meals in the kitchen, and having laundry and drier in the studio was very convenient. Also, it provided basic detergents which were helpful. The building is historic and has its charm. The staff were all friendly and courteous. Use of swimming pool and gym was also good. Overall 9 out of 10. -1 is due to having the furniture being a bit worn out, sofa was a bit stained etc that one can find in a well used studio…. and there was no cutting board! If it was booked close to the event when the price is 2-3 times more expensive, I think one can be little disappointed by lack of quality comparison to the price. However, without considering the potential price vs value, it was solid studio for one to stay weeks comfortably.

Staff are absolutely fantastic. Always smiling and aiming to accommodate. Room was large and bed was v comfy. Air con was fantastic! Others have commented about noise level but my room was away from the street and was v quiet. Kitchen well equipped. Shower good w lots of hot water. Great to have washer dryer. Appliances older but most functioned well. Dishwasher was iffy but someone came up right away to take a look. Little balcony was nice to have since it is the only outside space. View of a parking garage but that didn’t bother me.Other window in the bedroom was interior. Wifi good. Would be great if salt, pepper were provided. Nice to have Nespresso machine. I didn’t use the pool or the gym but they both looked good.

Good part was friendly staff and an upgrade from studio to 1 bedroom. Not so good was loud guests above dropping things and hearing footsteps and kids running at all hours, couldn't open bedroom curtains because the room looked out to the corridor where everyone walked past, and the air con, which maintenance explained how it worked: either blowing cold, or heating or off to get get it to the correct temperature. Kitchen had cooking equipment for stove but no microwave equipment at all.

The cot provided had a thin mattress and towel which is uncomfortable for anyone to sleep on. The air-conditioning self-regulates and does not stay on the selected temperature, which makes the room uncomfortable during a warm night.
