My children and I really like the view of Volcano Bay...such a fun resort and very close to all the other Universal Studio parks. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family. "My kids and I stayed at the Island at Fort Walton Beach for 5 days. They had a lot of fun events throughout the day to attend and the live music on the deck by the beach was great. The resort was beautiful! There were a few restaurants and shops within walking distance. We could walk to the Okaloosa Island Pier and the Gulfarium. We were also only a few minute drive to Destin. I had only two concerns: the resort charged an additional $30/per day resort fee at check out. So be prepared to be charged the additional fees. (The front desk staff were not all that friendly or very customer service oriented.)
And the breakfast buffet "discounted rate" was $25.00 per person. The food was not worth $25.
Other than that, we loved the resort and the time we spent there. We felt safe and the resort was clean and well kept. We would definitely come back! "
