This is a lovely old fashioned-feeling, quirky hotel with a great atmosphere. It is in a great location in the heart of Totnes. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and all our meals were tasty with decent portions. The staff members, without exception, were cheerful, helpful and welcoming. Parking is tight with there being only a small car park so other parking options may need to be considered before arrival.

We enjoyed our stay in Totnes - a lovely and interesting small town with plenty to do. The hotel is an older building and in many places could do with a little investment in the rooms. Staff were friendly and breakfast was excellent.

Good points :- Location, helpful staff, clean an & comfortable rooms and dining facilities, good food. Bad points :- Car park far too small - can be a real problem finding a space and parking. No lift to upper floors and therefore access challenging for some senior citizens and a no-go for the disabled.

A most amazing stay very last minute! I booked on the evening of my stay short notice, upon arrival I checked in & was shown to my room … a gracious little room aptly named ‘ The shoe box’ so cute everything I needed as a solo traveler. Perfectly snug. Wonderful staff & w location. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
