“Alot of thought has gone into the different little expierances you can have, in areas you can choose to relax. Food and drinks were great! We were up-graded to a amaising luxury villa! Our butler Ramson was very attentive and thoughtful. He really went the extra mile staying up and helping us with our cases at 12.30am and helping with our taxi. 친절한 직원들, 체크인과 체크아웃때 아프리카 특유의 환영문화를 접할 수 있음. 시설이 잘 관리받고 있는 느낌을 받았고 리조트 규모 대비 객실 수가 적당해서 다소 프라이빗한 느낌도 받을 수 있음. 객실이 쾌적하고 에어컨이 시원하다 못해 추울 정도로 가동이 잘됨. 시설 내 운동시설이 별도의 건물에 있으며 스파 시설 또한 별도의 건물로 이용 가능.
안 좋은점:
리조트 주변에 정말 아무것도 없음. 밥을 먹으려고 해도 리조트 내 레스토랑을 이용할 수밖에 없는데 가격이 상당히 비쌈. 5성급이라 하더라도 적당한 가격이라 생각되지 않는데 잔지바르 자체가 물가가 좀 비싼거 같음. 공항에서 1시간 이상 소요됨. 아침 조식 미포함일 경우 1인당 23달러로 이용 가능한데 그정도의 퀄리티 또는 구성은 아님. 수영장이 생각보다 작음. 리조트 내에서 각종 문화체험 등을 신청할 수 있는데 이것도 참 비쌈. 리조트에서 인근 city로 이동하려고 할 경우 리조트에 콜택시 요청을 해야하는데 이동거리...
“I had a mixed experience at the hotel. It's great that I had a positive first impression with excellent service and friendly staff. However, the noise and issues with the veranda window and doors must have been frustrating, especially if they were repaired late at night. The staff were kind and that I enjoyed the breakfast. Overall, it seems like there were both positives and areas for improvement during our stay.”
“The hotel is very new next to the new stadium sports complex which is one year old.
There was some problems with the shower door and safe but the staff quickly moved us to another room.
Breakfast and room service were very good.
The shower has excellent strong water pressure and air cons work very well.
You have to get a taxi into the centre of stone town which will cost you USD15 each way, but it is worth for the convenience of being away from the hustle and bustle - it was peaceful. ”
“Incredibly historic building with unique individually decorated rooms! Perfect location for walking around Stonetown. Delicious breakfast served on rooftop! Request Belle room if you don't want a lot of stairs. It has a huge balcony along the front of the building so it's fun to see tourists stop and take photos!”
“Only the location was good. The room was dated but not that bad. The most problem at this hotel is staff and service. They alwasys kept lying. At first, they said twice of taxi fare and later they changed the word. Moreover, they promised me to serve breakfast box instead of breakfast buffet because I had to leave earlier. But in the morning they said they have no idea even paid including breakfast. And after I checked thier note about breakfast box, they said the cook has some problem.. excuse...
"Amazing property but has its flaws. It's more fourish.
There are too many cockroaches and small insects in the villas for it to be an impeccable experience. The lamp shades need to replaced and are showing signs of wear-tear. There seems to be issues with communication as we never got the breakfast boxes we arranged prior through phoning the front-desk and room service. Asked for 0600am delivery but there was nothing the next day and there was no explanation from anyone. Just a poor no-show of service. The beach itself isn't particularly swimmable as there's too much low-tide. The movie night screen is way too small for anyone to enjoy. Much cheaper resorts do a better job at playing beach-side movies than The Residence. There was an issue with the key-cards, which didn't make sense as one could've lost its magnetism due to the phone, but the spare card was in the room. It just didn't work the last day. There were 3 power outages which was a first for me in Zanzibar, and there weren't any explanations for apologies from the staff. At check-out even though I made ample comments and complaints on things to be improved, they made no gesture at check-out as to ask me how the stay was or if they got any communication relayed about my issues. They just took the exorbitantly expensive drink prices in full (USD 200 in total for a few beers and mineral water). The rooms are nice with the pool, but there isn't much else here. Not really value for money. I expected more."
