Watakano Island, Shima hotel rooms at the Independent

"Everything was good. Free tea and coffee was nice. Room was typical Japan room. Close to station and lots of restaurants"

"As this hotel is a 20-minute walk from the train station, there are few restaurants/cafes nearby but there is a FamilyMart across the street. The hotel is an old budget hotel charging high rates since it is in Ise - so not a good value. The furniture in the rooms is old and visibly damaged, while the mens onsen spigot is rotting wood. Check-in is at 4pm unlike other hotels at 3pm. I would rather sleep on the floor than the mattress, which is small for a double and lumpy with springs."
