Beautiful Home.

Lovely place to stay. Great atmosphere. The owner was friendly and gave us a nice tour of the home. Everything necessary for a nights stay. Wish our trip had been longer than just one night.

If you are looking for a unique property while visiting the area we would recommend this property. The owner and property manager were incredibly attentive and welcoming. They were very communicative from the moment booking was made until we checked out. Bed was comfortable, we selected a room with a patio, there are only two that have that option at this property and would highly recommend selecting one of those rooms. They are very generous when it comes to dollar allocation to provide breakfast at one of three local establishments. If you like boutique style hotels, then you should check this one out!

Lovely little BB. We chose the cottage to keep to ourselves although found ourselves touring the inside of BB and sitting on the porch of the main house. Very lovely place

Beautiful hotel, can't wait to come back!

Amazing experience! We stayed in the cottage, and it was just beautiful. The bed is comfortable, and the cottage is very quiet. They have a Keurig with assorted coffee and tea (regular and decaf). I look forward to staying here again!

Charming historical looking home/inn. I felt like I went back in time. It was clean and ac was cool. Just a very relaxing to place to stay in an interesting neighborhood with a mix of historical traditional and colonial homes.

The Inn is beautiful. Howard was a wonderful host. He communicated our breakfast options as soon as the reservation was completed. We had a late check in, and he was prompt in replies. The rooms were clean. My only recommendation would be to trim the bush in front of the house. It was a little difficult to walk around and stay on the side walk. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Wonderful old house!

Wonderful host, great old house to explore, like a museum with a Brit twist! Great wrap around porch. Teacups, plentiful tea and coffee in room. Our suite was like an antique store, so many items to appreciate. Very clean accommodations. Short, easy walk to downtown Waxahachie, great breakfast places. Sweet town.

Wonderful stay at the English Merchant Inn From the moment we arrived, the English Merchant Inn exceeded every expectation. The historic charm of the building is beautifully maintained, yet every comfort feels modern and thoughtful. Our room was spotless, cozy, and full of character, with little touches that made it feel special. The innkeepers were warm and welcoming—always ready with helpful recommendations and a genuine smile. Breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious and clearly made with care. The location is ideal for exploring the area, but it’s also so peaceful that you can simply relax and soak in the atmosphere. We left feeling refreshed and already planning our next visit. I can’t recommend the English Merchant Inn highly enough for anyone looking for a perfect blend of comfort, history, and hospitality.

Staff reached out to us in advance to provide us check-in and parking information. Once we arrived, staff welcomed us via text and made sure everything was going well. The location was great and convenient for the purpose of our overnight stay. Room was clean and everything worked well for an older property. The property was really cool and we enjoyed our stay. The only reason not to give it 5 stars was the condition of the building. It is a old home in an historic area, the cracks in the walls and shower area just need to be patched and updated.
