I had a great one-night stay at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing night. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making check-in and check-out smooth and pleasant. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and tasty, with a good variety to choose from. Overall, a short but very pleasant stayโIโd definitely return.

โSet in lovely countryside views, owners & staff all veey friendly & helpful, fabulous choice of breakfasts, meals available during evening also with a varied menu including gluten free. No hesitation in recommending The Royal Oak for any length of stay, wish we could have stayed for longer!!!!โ

In any case Durham itself as a gem, and this hotel feels like the best of the charming character of Durham distilled into a building thatโs at once historical, and yet completely full of modern convenience.โ
