"I was concerned after reading some of the reviews but we needn't have been. The communal spaces were lovely, beautifully decorated and elegant. we had an amazing room overlooking the gardens and the city. staff were very helpful. the parking situation is a bit stressful though"

"Our stay with you was spectacular. All the staff we talked to or came into contact with were exceptional, well done it felt great. There was a lady who managed the bar (I missed her name but she's a 6'2" runner from Oldham) and she was absolutely awesome. Hotel restaurant and bar were fantastic, one of the best meals I've ever had the wellington Surf and Turf. The bar was relaxing and had a wonderful female jazz singer on the night we were in there, also seemingly meticulously picked for the room and atmosphere. Perfect location for the York Xmas markets which were also fantastic on a fairly rainy day."

"Lovely hotel, great reception and room service staff. Friendly and very helpful. We had a king size courtyard room which was clean and had a fridge and kettle. Bed was comfortable and shower worked well. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Parking available at hotel but limited or car park at the Mount School which always had spaces. The walk into York took about 25 minutes. Only small criticism was the bar ran out of drinks including sauvignon white wine. Other than that would definitely come and stay again."
