The property was clean and well maintained. I liked the variety in room options and the look of the resort in general. It was a very beautiful place.

We had a wonderful stay at Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar. The resort was beautiful, the beach was relaxing, and the staff worked hard to make our vacation enjoyable. A special thank you goes to the Guest Services team, especially Jesus, Onade, and everyone else who helped us throughout our stay. They were always friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making sure our questions and concerns were handled quickly. Their kindness and attention made a real difference in our experience. The food, pools, entertainment, and overall atmosphere made for a memorable vacation. We especially appreciated how welcoming everyone was and how much effort the staff put into creating a great guest experience. Thank you to the entire team for helping us make lasting memories. We would happily recommend Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar to anyone looking for a relaxing Caribbean getaway, and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. We had 5 rooms for 9 guests. Barcelo Bavaro Palace fails in the most basic areas of hospitality: cleanliness, food safety, customer service, communication, and management. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. The rooms were filthy. The walls were covered in dust, cockroaches were present in multiple rooms, and several electrical outlets were loose, creating a serious safety concern. The food quality was unacceptable. Fresh food was virtually nonexistent throughout our seven-day stay. Tomatoes, watermelon, and other vegetables were repeatedly reused, and many hot dishes appeared to be reheated and served over multiple days. The smell of spoiled produce was noticeable every morning. The resort's sanitation standards were equally unacceptable. Vomit remained next to the pool bar overnight without being cleaned, and the beach was covered with excessive seaweed that was left uncleared, making swimming impossible. The staff demonstrated virtually no customer service skills, and most employees could not communicate in English, making even basic requests frustrating. Management was completely ineffective. After requesting to speak with a manager more than 20 times, I finally met with a senior manager and spent over an hour explaining the numerous issues we encountered. At checkout, I was informed that none of my complaints had ever been documented or communicated, showing a complete lack of accountability.
