"No reminder sent in advance of attempting to take out the required deposit for our stay, which we had booked months in advance (issue was conversion rate meant maximum withdrawal amount needed increasing, but could only be done our end). We were in transit when contact was made (on the day of the stay) and couldn’t check messages due to that. Arrived late at night to discover our stay had been cancelled because we hadn’t replied to their messages (we were literally on an airplane!) Left us with a big problem of trying to find a room at 10pm on a Thursday night in NYC! Staff weren’t helpful in enquiring at other Moxy hotels on our behalf to help us find a room for that first night, even though we were still due to stay with them for over a week from the following night. We ended up taking our business elsewhere, stayed at Moxy Lower East Side for the entirety of our stay and they were fantastic."
