“A lovely hotel, beautifully maintained in an amazing location with friendly staff. The only thing that let it down was the quality of the bed and pillow: one hard; the other lumpy. You get a better night's sleep at a Travelodge, to be honest. With a better bed (maybe just a mattress topper?) and a nicer pillow, this would be a five star stay.”

“Excellent location. En-suite room. Friendly staff. Quirky old Victorian style bathroom with shower in roll top bath (would not be suitable for those with mobility issues, as they would have difficulty getting in and out of the bath). It was very hot weather and only one opening window. The fan helps, but could do with air conditioning. The room is fine for a couple of nights. We had an enjoyable atay”

“Clean rooms , w/c seat was broken , window seal was sticky so item's stuck to the surface . Staff were really nice , the bar was good . Great to have free parking . Overall not bad but not memorable enough to return .”

“I booked this hotel for my birthday, wanting to be near the ocean, and it totally delivered! We stayed in the beautiful loft room, and the Dyson fan kept it nice and cool. Loved the bathroom and its size. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful, but the pub/restaurant staff, not so much. We really wished we could've stayed longer (but the hotel was fully booked, of course). Having the beach so close was just perfect. I would definitely revisit Botany Bay Hotel.”

“I had a room on the top floor. It was bright, spacious, clean and it had a great view. I was grateful for the AC in my unit because it was so hot in Margate when I was there. The continental breakfast delicious, lots of choice, the coffee was great and it was included. LOVED IT. Great location right beside the Turner Museum and a short walk to Cliftonville.”

“A very pleasant and well located place to stay in Deal. All of the staff were exceptionally pleasant and very proactive in being of help and assistance. The food is fresh and well presented and the rooms clean and comfortable. We would have no hesitation to use the hotel again if and when we return to the the area.”

“Locatie is top, eigenaresse uiterst vriendelijk en de Sunrise kamer doet haar naam eer, werkelijk heerlijk. Punt van aandacht: badkamer en overall onderhoud kan beter, dit is low hanging fruit en veel zaken zoals kitnaden, voegen etc is easy te perfectioneren. Prijs kwaliteit kan daarom iets beter maar zoals gezegd, low hanging fruit en op een ochtend opgelost. Go for it en dan tot de volgende keer!”

“Paul was super welcoming and accommodating and had some lovely suggestions for things to do in Margate. The Beetroot is in great location and there are plenty of places to get a drink, food or coffee less than 5 minutes away. The room itself was lovely and the bed was super comfy. The seating outside the room and the courtyard are a nice touch too. Thanks Paul! We’d definitely stay again.”

“We had a great stay here, it’s excellent value for money. Jim was a fantastic, friendly host. The breakfasts were nice, though we could have done with better vege options. The location is convenient, including proximity to bus routes and trains for exploring the area. Overall we would happily go back!”

“Hotel was in a lovely setting right on the river.It did have bad reviews but dont take any notice of them .The room was spotless and well equipped and overlooked the river .We had dinner there and food was good the only slight issue is the menu which should have a few more normal dishes but apart from that it was good as was the breakfast served looking out at the river.Parking was no problem loads of room.We will be going back later this year.”

“We were expecting a well maintained, boutique hotel, sadly it was not. Although refurbished in Nov 2014, the state of our room (1) lacked maintenance. Although each was relatively minor, when 10 issues are present, then the result is a disappointment. I relayed these to the receptionist on departure, and she seemed reluctant to seriously acknowledge the problem. This summed up the general feeling of laissez-faire.”

“We had a comfortable and friendly stay at St Peter’s B&B. We were given a ground floor converted stable room which was well furnished, comfortable and clean. The ensuite shower was amazing. Both complimentary continental buffet breakfast and hot cooked breakfast of your choice was available. The location was in the centre of Sandwich, less than 5 minutes walk to the shops.
