My stay was great staff was friendly and helpful.

Did have issues with the AC unit in the room, but the staff got maintenance to fix it.

The resort was gorgeous with plenty of excellent food and entertainment options. The rooms are cleaned every day and are extremely comfortable. We even got lucky with a free upgrade to an ocean view. The true standout at the Moon Palace, however, is the staff. Everyone we met was so nice, it truly brought our vacation to another level. I highly recommend staying here for groups of all ages and sizes. I did not travel with children, but many people had children, and it seemed very family-friendly with separate kids and teen rooms, activities, and entertainment at night.

Building 4 which is a half mile from the main lobby and restaurants has NO elevator! We really did not want to climb two flights of stairs multiple times per day while on vacation, so we had to limit trips back to the room. Imagine the task for the bellmen with having to carry up and down all bags! Also, this building is near the water park and has the so called superior suites but beware with only 1 bathroom! Daily calls had to made to get enough towels/wash cloths because house keeping would only leave enough for 4 in a room with 6 persons. And worst of all, was having to line up and wait over for 30 minutes to get food, especially by Pepe's. That was not relaxing! There was only 1 person working the jerk grill and there was no choice but to wait because the food had ran out just before your turn!

I enjoyed my stay at RIU Palace. I particularly enjoyed the access to the other resorts. I however felt watched by security and felt inconvenienced a lot by some staff. It seems a lot is done through app. We didn’t learn how to use it til day 3 when head guy at dinner showed us. Then we had the hand gel hookah and it rained a lot and as I sat at pool at Reggae security approached me when to my left a man was smoking weed and 2 rows in front a women was smoking her hookah both were white but he felt the need to approach me walking past the super strong smell of week. Then we were in Palace pool by Elite building and it started raining so most everyone rain to food place right beside pool it’s like 3:02pm and they refused to serve us and made us run over to aqua lounge. Let’s talks about elite. We paid for the upgrade but it was certainly not worth it and the service that we thought came along with it was not up to par. We couldn’t get reservations or too much of anything with the elite bracelet: one shining star was Japoria at Vogue Bar. She was always pleasant and made great drinks. Let’s revisit me with my hookah with 5% nicotine and flavor. I’m sitting on the beach alone and the chairs still wet and here again security harassing me to move 5 ft literally 2 steps over in the open air to smoking section.. Ridiculous! Would I stay again sure, because we had a good time. Would I upgrade not for service if I did but for that amazing room. But this wouldn’t be my first choice.
