The Pavilion Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"This hotel was pure paradise! The location is convenient as you're coming off of the ferry, and yet surprisingly quiet at night. The staff was extremely helpful with local dining and shopping recommendations, and the evening wine and hors d' oeuvres as well as the morning continental breakfast were great! The outdoor areas were lush with lots of comfy seating and tropical plants everywhere, making it very pleasant to sit outdoors and enjoy the gorgeous weather. Our room was clean and well-appointed and we loved being able to refill our water bottles so conveniently. The only negative was a family with several children who were allowed to run wild and make far too much noise, but that certainly wasn't the hotel staff's fault. I will definitely choose this hotel for all future stays on Catalina!"

Hotel St. Lauren

Hotel St. Lauren

8/10 Good
"I would say that the biggest advantage of this hotel is its convenient location. It is within easy reach of many of the things Avalon has to offer, including Von’s, local activities, the dock, ferry terminal, and a variety of restaurants. Being so centrally located makes it easy to explore the area and enjoy everything Avalon has to offer without having to travel far. While there are certainly other beautiful and more upscale hotels in the area, I think this property offers a good balance between location and cost. If convenience and accessibility are priorities, the price feels reasonable for what you’re getting. Overall, I would consider this a decent option for travelers who want to be close to the main attractions and amenities while staying within a reasonable budget."

"Very nice old school place, I'd say it is original to the island. Three floors, no elevator, very charming. We stayed in the Errol Flynn room, King bed with large bathroom, very clean. We had excellent service from the staff. We had free continental breakfast, bagels, cream cheese, muffins, fruit, juice and coffee. They offered free bottled water, which is so rarely offered in hotels today. This place was so conveniently located to the beach, shops, and the grocery store."
