"I very much appreciated the way the staff treated us, they were first-class.
Wifi outages on Sept. 30 and October 1 we are seniors and don’t do the nightlife. We watch tv and go to bed.
The paperwork at the spa can be transitioned to tablets. When using multiple days the info would self populate.
A handhold at the front of the tub, we are seniors and have balance issues getting in and out of the tub. Or better yet convert the tubs to walk-in showers. I mean who takes a bath when one is at a spa."
"This charming 100+ year old inn has so much to offer the traveler: An inviting front porch, rear deck, and comfy parlor for hanging out, antique furnished bedrooms with modern private baths, fast wi-fi, and an included extensive continental breakfast. The beds were very comfortable and the towels fluffy. Every area of the inn is extremely well maintained and clean. Conveniently located in a walkable area close to shops and restaurants. The photos on their listing are 100% current and accurate.
Surrounded by the West Virginia mountains, and a block from the Greenbrier River Trail, it was perfect for these e-bike enthusiasts. The inn is set up to meet the special needs of all types of bikers by offering covered parking for motorcycles and a covered, secured area for bicycles that can accommodate e-bike charging.
The innkeepers are great. They do not live on site but have things very well organized and labeled so it was easy to find what you might need."
"TravelLodge featured a comfortable clean room that is well maintained. The only convenience I missed was there is no coffeemaker in the room as is common many places. BUT... if that is the only comment, this place is really good. I will stay there again if passing through the area, Penny's Diner adjacent to the Hotel is an easy affordable coffee source,
Penny's Diner staff were super friendly, cool personalities and classic short order menu that most youngsters in other areas do not get to experience, It is also very convenient that the Hotel Front us co-located there.
One last item of interest: CSX (Railroad) has a contract with that location. "Crew Lounge" is not a guest area, It is for their employees. The morning after I simply looked in there and walked out, unsuspectingly, a big prominent sign was on the closed door that I did not see when it was open. Understanding the importance of honoring contracts, and hosting in-transit personnel, I suggest TravelLodge inform non-CSX guests to avoid uncomfortable moments or Paper Signs telling the unsuspecting traveller to "Keep Out"."
"Overall we enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. A special appreciation for Rebecca, she checked us in Friday night and was excellent. The only downside was tge alarm went off several times Friday night and Saturday night. Not sure if someone was smoking but it was annoying and interrupted our rest."
"Excellent staff. The room was a bit warm because the sun hits the room all afternoon, but we were out for the day. Maybe bring a small fan for the night to help out the a/c. It was a hot July day and a/c was working overtime. Comfortable bed. No amenities but there is a community pool down the street you can use for a small fee.
Breakfast-you might want to eat out but we managed. Eggs and heated vegetables, and you have to look for the breakfast area or you’ll miss it. Okay for an overnight stay in a small town if you’re passing through. Beautiful scenery and I highly recommend a picnic at the Humpback covered bridge and also Petticoat Junction nearby if you love butterflies!"
"It is a lovely hotel in a tranquil area. We stayed in the Barley room in the Miller’s House and very much enjoyed having breakfast on the porch. Great for a relaxing getaway!"
"Very accommodating staff. Rooms are well kept in view of the fact that the property is old and maintains some of the decor and charm of a previous era. A low-key and restful environment with easy access to local attractions."
