"The front desk employees were disrespectful at times. The fellow who ran maintenance and the cleaning crew were helpful. Unfortunately, I was washing my dogs crate cushion that I had ordered specially to fit his crate. I had a confusion about the dryer and maintenance came and helped me. I put the cushion in the dryer and set my timer then proceeded to go to my room to prepare for a ceremony that I would be attending later. When my timer went off, I went to the laundry room and the cushion (and a little shark toy) were gone, very disappointing!! The dryer was still warm so I know that it must have recently stopped. It might be nice to put a sign up to indicate the time that it it took for the machines to complete their cycles. "

"Booked this hotel thru Expedia and got a very good price. It is just around the corner from the Hartford train and bus stations so it's wonderfully convenient. Just a few issues - First, the front door on Asylum Street is locked, with no sign to tell folks to walk around to the side entrance. Second - when we opened the door to our room, we found that IT HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED after the previous guests checked out - bed not made, used towels all over the bathroom (!) The clerk apologized and gave us another room - mistakes are made, but this was so dumb! Third - the bathroom faucets had crud on them (not just tarnish, but some gunk that could have been scrubbed off). Fourth - nice breakfast room, but no packets of half & half for coffee, only those flavored Coffee Mate thingies; there was 2% milk in the fridge for cereal, but this was almost gone; instead of scrambled eggs they had these rubbery egg disks. Despite my 3-star rating, I would still stay at the Capitol because of the convenient location."

"Everything is smiley everywhere. The isles are stinking on every floor, the toilet is clogged, the quilt is with an strong oder of smoke "

"I was pretty surprised at how clean, walkable and nice west Hartford was. Easy to find a spot for dinner nearby. The hotel and staff are great. It’s more expensive but this is a case of getting what I paid for. I have zero complaints about my stay"

"The rooms weren’t dirty, they were worn, old. I liked the setup. We had to be moved from our first room because the tv didn’t work. I would stay again but for a weekend tops. I have a bit of OCD so next time I would bring my own cleaning supplies and sheets. All in all the hotel was ok, the staff was nice and the residents were friendly. "
