Dan River, Virginia hotel rooms at the Independent

"Did not access the breakfast, left before it opened. Room was fine, bathroom outdated. Place is old, but served the purpose."

"Walter, that was working the front desk was amazing, friendly, courteous and professional. Continental breakfast selection was very limited and the ice machine weren’t working were the only drawbacks. "

"This hotel is located very close to the interstate making for an easy off easy on experience. The room was clean and comfortable. The swimming pool was small but fine and very, very warm. The hot tub was ice cold due to a part being broken on it (as per the girl at the front desk) but we were told about that ahead of time so we knew to expect it. The beds were very comfortable and we slept fine. Everything in the room worked as it should. The shower and bathroom area was clean. The breakfast was a normal hot breakfast bar but it did not feature sausage or bacon but instead some sort of ham that looked like luncheon meat, it wasn't very good. The other options were just fine. We were staying overnight on our way to another destination and we would stay again next year when we make this trip again. Wasn't very many restaurants close by to choose from, we settled for a Wendys. Other options were normal like burger king etc. "

"The rooms were very clean and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast on Wednesday morning was only until 9:30 and since I'm a late riser I didn't get it in time. This location is situated between right next to a major truck stop so sometimes getting in and out is difficult when trucks back up and blocking the driveway. It's right off of I-77 and there are fast electric car charging stations in the parking lot at the truck stop. No charging stations at all up the hill near the hotel."
