“Honestly the best hotel stay I have had in the Lake District. The hotel is the most dog friendly hotel I have ever came across. All of the team were attentive and welcoming. We will be returning and will be recommending to all our friends and family! ♥️🐾”

“It is an excellent location, beautiful sea view rooms overlooking south bay, close to local amenities, there is a lift to take you down to the seafront and back again, only cost £2.50, I recommend it for the view. Rooms are serviced every day, great friendly staff, great restaurant and it’s dog friendly too, don’t take my word for it! Just go and enjoy 😊 ”

“The room was of poor standard. The property looks very run down and dated. Breakfast was not very appetising and chaotic! Not sure we would want to visit again.”

“Extortionate price for a freezing room with no really hot water. Bar was cold too (no logs put on fire) although food and beer were good. Landlady was unsympathetic - "no one else has complained". She suggested I could have put a second duvet on top. Talk about denial!!!!! Avoid this place if you want value for money and/or until the temperature rises above 18 degrees.”

“Stayed in an upstairs room in The Bakery. Stairs are very steep so, if you have any issues with climbing stairs, make sure you are not staying in an upstairs room. Cocktails were fabulous in the pub!”

“The hotel roomed seemed spacious and clean. The shower ran out of hot water first thing in the morning. I had to take a cold shower at 7 in the morning because the warm water just went away and I had the handle turned all the way to hot. Not a great experience. And my husband was charged $10 for a small bowl of cereal and a coffee which is steep. ”
