Two seats in reception doorway were damaged giving a poor first impression. I feel that the £5 per night car park charge should be refunded for resident guests. “The room was very clean , comfortable bed and crisp white linen and towels. Lots of hot water for a nice hot bath . The lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming. “Got a really good price on a room with a gym on site. There was decent parking available and I got parked up near the entrance. I had a room on the ground floor which was close to the gym as well as the entrance. The room was pretty standard but what was required for me. I got shown to the gym which had new equipment and had plenty to choose from. I was then told it was an extra £5 to use it which would have been nice to know as part of booking the stay. “Strikingly looking hotel. Unfortunately on entering reception, we were greeted with a dirty carpet, which carries on into the bar area with lots of stains. Our room was up 2 flights of stairs, which I wasn't aware of when I booked. Therefore, in this heatwave, the room was an oven. There was a desk fan - 'thank goodness'. Pleased with the room, the layout and amenities. Curtains need seeing to, useless and need blackouts! All the staff were pleasant and hard working. Did not expect a buffet...

“The best thing about this hotel is the location which is fantastic, and the staff were very nice. We stayed in the Oak Suite which is apparently the best room; it benefits from a private terrace with a pair of easy chairs to watch the river and it's occupancy go by, which is lovely. For me it definitely wasn't a four star, but a fair three star hotel. There was a temporary kitchen which also hampered them as well as the view. The room was clean and airy with a (strangely grubby!)Juliet balcony...

“Absolutely wonderful staff and the room was amazing!! The only issue (not their fault) they put me on the top floor and I struggle with stairs a lot as I’m disabled.. so, I booked a small single room but they have a huge room with a double and two singles great bathroom windows that open for air and the bed was great and the hot chocolate n biscuits.
