"I lived on Long Island for most of my life and spent much time down port and always considered Danfords a place with high standards. My family had had our parties here and my employers have had their holiday parties here so I was very surprised to be disappointed when I booked my first stay here. I live out of state now and came back to see family and decided to stay at Danfords for the first time. After driving 12 hours, we were told our room was across the street in the G building, but that the building had no carts for luggage. I would have to go back across the street and bring one from the lobby. It's a bit of an inconvenience, but i shrugged it off. My mother and i walk into our room and it was rather filthy and smelled almost musty. Stains on the pillows, blankets, hair in the mini fridge, soap dispensers weren't refilled, and the chain to the balcony door was hanging off the hinges. The young man behind at the lobby did his best to accomodate me by moving our rooms and letting management know I wanted to talk the next morning. The new room was cleaner, but heavy scratching on the bathroom door and ripped carpets were adding to the disappointment. Management took off a $33 resort fee, but resort is a term that should be used loosely. I will probably not stay here again and hope the buildings and rooms get a much needed face lift in the future."

"From the first moment I walked into my hotel room it smelled strange. About 10 minutes later a man in the room next door was being loud and using the f and n word repeatedly. On top of that he had a loud woman, crying baby, and barking dogs. Also, across the hall there were toddlers that kept trying to open my hotel door from the hallway. On our last day there I wanted room service and my son was almost dressed so we could leave the room. Instead of waiting just 30 seconds she handed me a stack of towels and washcloths and left. I realized later what the strange smell was because it kept coming into our room. It was the neighbors smoking marijuana. I also smelled and saw people doing it in the parking lot. All of this kept happening during our five day stay. The day we checked out there was nobody at the front desk until a woman that just showed up had to go back and get a guy who seemed like he didn't have a clue what was going on. This was a terrible experience and will never book here again."

"Staff is excellent. All are friendly, efficient, and very courteous. We stayed there when it was Hotel Zero several times, visiting family from out of state, and the Watershed re-do looks nice as well. The problem we have with the property is acoustics. First, because of how the lobby is built, the noise travels up to the other rooms, and it's a huge echo chamber (like John Bonham banging on the drums, loud). Second, the ceilings don't have enough (or any?) insulation, so the noise of the person above our room sounded like she weighed 5000 pounds in wooden clogs. If you bring ear-plugs, you'll be fine. Unfortunately, we will not return, because we need our sleep, and that can't happen there."
