6/10 Okay

"Check in are brisk as the lady working the reception are fast and efficient. The room I am in (RM58) are indeed spacious but I think they just updated the flooring and bed. Other than that, bathroom are very outdated and the cleanliness of the refrigerator are not desirable. But they do provide you with an air purifier which I appreciated as it would be musty if not. Breakfast are very simple, coffee( till 12pm), bananas , cereals and granola bar. There are also a fridge for bottle water , 2 per person which is a nice touch. I think they try to upgrade and still in the process of renovating as the area is pretty large. But for the price , I would still consider if I am at the area again."

"We stayed at Cayuga Blu hotel for my son's graduation from Ithaca College. Staff made the entire experience for us so special. They left a toy bear in graduation attire in each room we booked and allowed us to use a small party room for free to celebrate after graduation. The room fit 12 people. We were a group of 7 so it was perfect. Management let me decorate the party room in the early morning so when we came back from graduation everything was ready."

"Be warned: This place is very inexpensive for a reason. Because Kiteville had a lot of good reviews and the room pictures looked nice, I booked two "deluxe studios" with "1 Queen Bed with Sofa bed." Big mistake. When we arrived, we learned there is no one working on site (no reception desk), which caused me to go and read the fine print on the booking. This is explained way down in the booking information, but it also says we would receive an email 24 hours before check-in with our room information and door access codes. Never received that, obviously, since I was calling upon arrival. I spoke with a guy who said he'd text me my information. After waiting 10 minutes outside the door, I called again -- and then I got a text. The text had the room and codes for 1 room. I asked about the second room, but received no response. All five of us in my group went to that one room while waiting. The hallways were dark and dingy. The room smelled like cigarettes. It was not deluxe, but rather a very small room with a full-size bed (perhaps even smaller) and a couch that did not fold out into a bed. The hotel backs up on a beautiful river, which would be nice if the hotel's backyard wasn't strewn with trash! So I tried to call the guy again, but this time I was put on hold indefinitely. At that point, I just texted him and requested a refund and we went next door to the Best Western, who were very accustomed to welcoming Kiteville refugees."

La Tourelle Inn & Spa

"I travel to Ithaca often for work. My room (single king) was spacious and clean, a good table to do work. It was on the first floor, which I wasn't thrilled with. However, the desk is manned 24/7, so I felt a little better about it. There is a nature trail close by, if you're able, I recommend brining sneakers that can get muddy or hiking boots if you want to get some exercise outside of the small gym. Overall, good experience. I look forward to trying out the spa next time I stay at La Tourelle."

"Great location with wonderful views of Seneca Lake. Large rooms, quiet, but bed and pillows were too hard for us. Were told beforehand that the restaurant would not be open, but it actually was, did not eat there. Okay continental breakfast, decent coffee. Good spot if you’re on the wine trail."

"Parking Parking Parking. This is a real problem that could easily be resolved by Hotel Management. It is insufficient and we and many others had to circle and circle without any hope of a space. When I let the Front Desk know of the issue they were aware and then gave me a parking permit for nearby parking behind the hotel. THIS SHOULD BE DONE AT CHECK-IN! Very frustrating. Also need to embrace the Mid century architecture! The decor throughout the hotel and rooms is a mishmash of farmhouse, transitional furnishings. Why paint vintage brick battleship grey? Location is the biggest upside to this hotel as it allows walking to all of Cornings charming little downtown."
