“It is an older style building, but was clean, central and really good value. The setting and gardens are great and brilliant for dogs.”

“This is a lovely old fashioned-feeling, quirky hotel with a great atmosphere. It is in a great location in the heart of Totnes. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and all our meals were tasty with decent portions. The staff members, without exception, were cheerful, helpful and welcoming. Parking is tight with there being only a small car park so other parking options may need to be considered before arrival.”

“The room was very comfortable, the staff were excellent. We loved the ambience and the food There was nothing we disliked except the proximity of the village church which insisted on striking every quarter hour day and night. It was an unusually warm night in October so we had the window open so I would advise using earplugs if the window is open.”

“Conveniently situated & serves the one of the best breakfasts in all of the travelling we’ve done over the years throughout the UK. The owner-hosts were very helpful & genuinely friendly without being imposing. Only one minor criticism of the room in that I found one of my pillows was flat & the other like having my head on a rock. However, my wife’s were fine, so that made everything alright as she told me to stop moaning😉 Our thanks to the owner Peter for the recommendation for the best fish...
