“This hotel was rated highly and priced as though it was a high end property - it is not. It is an ancient chateau remodeled into a 1970s motel with amateur carpentry. Upon arrival the manager attempted to upsell us on-site breakfast and booking a dinner reservation through her website instead of showing us to our room. Our room was surprising, as it was not attractive or comfortable. There was a giant space heater to be plugged in because the proprietor turns off the heat at night - in December!...

I'm very satisfied with my stay at Hôtel Du Pont Vieux. The staff were all kind and everything is almost perfect. The only disadvantage is about a lift but this is already mentioned by the hotel owner, so I was okay with it.”

Located in a small countryside village, we found the location perfect for exploring the wider area, though it is remote from shops & restaurants so you must plan accordingly. The guesthouse is situated in a wonderfully restored substantial village property, with great comfort and decor, as well as a very refreshing pool in which to cool down. “Fantastiskt mottagande. Vi kom sent utan att ha ätit middag. En fantastisk sallad med gott vin fixades fram. Trevligt samtal med ägarna. God frukost med närproducerade varor. Kan verkligen rekommendera detta boende. Men det var svårt att hitta rätt ingången i mörkret. ”

“Spent one evening at Résidence Carmina with our German Shepherd. The apartment was well appointed, spacious and very clean. The bed was large and very comfortable. Quality linens. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. We appreciated the secure parking, inner courtyard and just a short walk to the medieval city of Carcasonne.”

“It was bitterly cold… And I was delayed by wintry weather in Manchester Airport and arrived much later than expected… The hotel staff responded by email to my email telling them that I would be late… And had prepared my room with an oil filled radiator pumping away at 24 C when I arrived….wonderful service …for which many thanks to the courteous and considerate staff.”
