“I had an amazing one-night stay at Agnus Unawatuna in Unawatuna, Sri Lanka. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and very clean. The entire hotel was spotless and well maintained. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, and one of the best parts of the hotel was the stunning rooftop infinity pool with breathtaking views. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sri Lanka.”
“Great location inside the fort walls, so close to shopping, dining and historic sites. Staff very so nice and helpful, and the breakfasts, which were different every day and were freshly made local food, are probably the best breakfasts we've had in any country when travelling overseas. Beautifully restored building with tasteful period style decor. Good a/c plus a ceiling fan”
“Zero hassle at checkin and checkout. Exceptional staff. They are incredibly warm and polite. Local breakfast offerings were amazing. Hoppers were great! Highly recommended. ”
“While the amenities are limited, it's also not the type of place where you go to steal all of the mini shampoos. The Dutch Bungalow was the one place we stayed at the longest in Sri Lanka - 4 nights on a 3 week trip. It was also our favorite place to stay. Even thought we stayed at many places with a breakfast buffet, this was my favorite breakfast of all. Such an intimate and friendly setting and a superb location. We were able to explore the Fort area over the 4 days to the point that we knew...
“The room was very nice however it was incredibly dark and needed either extra lighting or some focused lighting to read documents. I feel that they were trying to get a " Vibe ", however with all the problems of the world at the moment with war in the middle east we really missed a TV to keep up with the news.”
“This property is a stunning gem away from the heat and bustle of Galle Fort. A beautiful pool and a sea breeze is definite respite during the day
A 5 minute tuk tuk ride will take you to the Fort.
The rooms are large. The beds very comfy. The shower was perfect. All decorated simply and in keeping with the building 150 year age.
Then there is Mohan who appears like magic when you need something. He is kind and friendly, the perfect host..if he offers to make you a traditional lunch or dinner...
“I booked for 1 day and stayed for over two week. Great value comes with breakfast and the room and bathroom beautiful and clean.
The room i stsyrd in was a beautiful surprise.
The room is on the second floor in family home. Felt safe and comfortable. ”
“This is an amazing property run by amazing and friendly staff. The rooms themselves are unusual and special in design, with an outside (but private) bathroom which is unlike anything else. The pool is nice and the area is surrounded by trees where monkeys jump around and entertain you, but we had no issues with them as they are the shy kind! Would definitely recommend and is great for visits to Galle and Dakata beach which is excellent for surfing. ”
“The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the pool provided a lovely cooling break aftwr a long day. Breakfast was incredible. Additionally, the staff was so kind and even let me check out late due to an evening flight. I highly recommend this property.”
“I nearly wanted to provide one star if not for them upgrading the room. The room had 3 large cockroaches that fly. I injured my palm while hitting one. There were many other insects and spiders too. After they upgraded us, the TV in the room couldn’t work. The breakfast was limited and tasteless. The location was not ideal. Should get one inside Galle Fort. ”
